yep, many believe the AI bubble needs deflating. You haven't given yourself much time to be right though. And NVDA is up a little bit afterhours.

A put spread would have been a lot cheaper than the long puts. The $112 Sep27/Oct4 calendar puts cost <1/2 the debit of the long $116 puts...if the short leg expired worthless this week, you'd be left with long $112 Oct4 puts...

Trading options as you've shown is expensive, better to limit your losses by spreading....

Played around with my newly tweaked method for the past several months. Turns out I've modified that for even longer term moves, from 3-12 months and it works great. However, after trading both for nearly 6 months, it appears my short term trading style is still more profitable over that period of time, but only because I am able to trade WAY more stocks and total positions over that same period. But, it is good to have a usable set-it-and-forget-it method available, too. Also, while both PUTS and CALLS are profitable, I have found that for trades lasting that long and with the volatility overseas and even in the US, it is probably best to mainly follow the PUTS for now, because if something happens over a weekend or a short time period, it will typically be negative rather than exploding a stock up.

I have also found this is my favorite site to post on, because the other option sites have a lot of new traders on them(?) that spend most of their time trying to show how "smart" they are by showing how someone else's trades are stupid, even if they're profitable. I had more than one guy tell me that profitability was not the definition of a good trade (or trader). Sorry, but money is the only reason I trade. I have other hobbies that keep me busy, I have trading that buys me things. And with the possibility of an even higher short term capital gains tax down the road, I want to make as much as I can as fast as I can.

Anyway, I'll start posting my trades again, as this has become a convenient electronic trading journal for me. And who knows, maybe it helps someone along the way.

what, 5800 this week?...idk...we got atr 145 but I'm not feeling that, after a bunch of bigass weekly candles in Aug-Sept, maybe we close the quarter with a whimper. I'm wary of the season, will likely build short positions for the next 3-4 weeks

current SnP shorts highest now since March '24. But the Fed yakkers are doing their best to sell the soft landing dream....Chinese CB stimulus on the way...CBankers everywhere to the rescue...not sure I will bet the farm on shorts...

I was stopped from my put,
price went above my buy point and i switched to long call
I went nvda long call and closed in profit
I think that even one day to expire option make a lot of money when price goes my way

new SnP ath today, on piddlin volume. Maybe a PCE green day Friday to close the quarter. My RUT spreads are dying, I need 2250 to b/e. Likewise NDX, need a run to 20,200 or better, very doable.

NVDA 116 call with 3 days to expire went up over 100 % just today . exited same day
Avoid paying for time when my plan is to exit betwen 1 to 3 days

Not a whole lot going on today. I wanted to be at my computer for the close, but wasn't able to be, so I'll be looking at the following in the morning. I'll see what premarket futures are saying, but these should be worth a look:

BABA Oct11 94/95 PUT

BIDU Oct11 93 PUT

LVS Oct11 44 PUT

NTES Oct11 86 PUT

At least a couple of these should be worth getting tomorrow sometimes, preferably as the price is stable or moving up some to make them cheaper.

Futures are well up all indices on dovish moves in Asia. I want to have some short positions going into October, but I will be waiting til late Friday or Monday to even dip my toe in those, and I am looking at 3 weeks to Oct opex. If we get another bull run to new ath's in the next few days, it'll be a gift for put buyers.

Yep, it seems China is driving the market today. All four gapped up. I may get in closer to the close, because some of these really have nothing except the Asia wave going for them now. I guess I'll wait and see later in the day.

risk is to the downside going into October in an election yr. I will let today play out though, and see if PCE keeps the bulls going Friday. But this bull move is looking stretched....
