And, I'm sure you can find other ones, too.
The one you posted is practically undoable.
It's some very ancient code, and fixing it is more tedious than creating a new one from scratch.

Or, maybe I found the exact same one as you posted!

NOTE!
Please don't try to use the .mq4 by renaming this one!
It will only work if the .ex4 file has a different name than your .mq4 file.
IOW, if you renamed the .ex4 to the name of the .mq4 file, the .ex4 file will no longer work, because MT4 will attempt to compile the .mq4 file to .ex4, and it can't do that with your .mq4 file.
.ex4/.ex5 files can't be fixed or modified / I'm not a coder!

Here you go.... $10k to $125k in one year. 92% long wins, 89% short wins. Initial trade size was set to 4.5 lots (Oanda Demo Acct) using a $10k account balance. Take profit was 5.4 pips. Daily bars, EURUSD. Testing period was Jan 1, 2023 - Jan 6, 2024. Min lots= 4.5, max lots=100 per oanda's guidelines and maximum leverage permitted by Oanda on the Euro.


Here is the Logic:

 

  1. Initialization:

    1. The EA sets up initial parameters including initial lot size, initial account balance, take profit in pips, and arrow codes for signals.









  2. Main Loop (OnTick function):

    1. The EA checks for open positions. If there's an open position, it does nothing.
    2. If there are no open positions, it checks for a new bar.









  3. New Bar Detection:

    1. The EA uses the IsNewBar() function to determine if a new bar has formed.
    2. This ensures the EA only checks for trading signals once per bar.









  4. Signal Detection:

    1. On each new bar, the EA checks for trading signals:

      1. Up Arrow: If the close of the previous bar is higher than the close of the bar before it.
      2. Down Arrow: If the close of the previous bar is lower than the close of the bar before it.

















  5. Lot Size Calculation:

    1. When a signal is detected, the EA calculates the lot size based on account growth:

      1. It compares the current account balance to the initial balance.
      2. The lot size is scaled proportionally to this balance ratio.
      3. Example: If the account has doubled, the lot size will double.









    2. The calculated lot size is bounded by the minimum and maximum lot size parameters.









  6. Trade Opening:

    1. For a Long Trade (Up Arrow):

      1. Sets stop loss 1 pip below the low of the previous bar.
      2. Sets take profit a fixed number of pips (TakeProfitPips) above the entry price.









    2. For a Short Trade (Down Arrow):

      1. Sets stop loss 1 pip above the high of the previous bar.
      2. Sets take profit a fixed number of pips (TakeProfitPips) below the entry price.









    3. Uses the calculated lot size to open the trade.



    7.Error Handling and Logging:

    1. The EA includes various checks and balances:

      1. Ensures the calculated lot size is not below the minimum allowed.
      2. Logs detailed information about calculations and actions taken.
      3. Reports any errors encountered during trade placement.


      In summary, this EA operates on a bar-by-bar basis, looking for simple trend-following signals (arrow indicators). It manages risk by scaling position sizes relative to account growth, with safeguards to prevent excessively large or small positions. The EA aims to capture fixed-pip profits while using the previous bar's range to set stop losses.

all my MT4 instances run in portable mode. Don't like to fill the system partition with useless data.

Could someone create an arrow for the attached indicator, something similar to the picture attached

If the last cycle is bigger than the previous Up arrow if is smaller down arrow

1. GI_Qrtly Cam + Pivot_BT.mq4
This indicator is very okay.

2. GI_Prev Qrtly Cam + Pivot_BT.mq4
This indicator pQOpen and pQClose are okay
But its pQHigh and pQLow are not okay as shown in the chart below.

Currently is signaling every time that there is a new cycle no if is bigger or smaller than previous cycle
