For whom? EU
Since when? 2010
Most additions of gold to central bank balance sheets: Ru and China
So it has no current relevance. - is my humble opinion

Essentially banks can now hold physical gold instead of fiat.

When you think about it, seems pretty obvious which way it’s going to go especially with growing possibility of world war and the vulnerability of fiat in such an uncertain world.

It allows commercial banks to hold a more diversified portfolios- from "risk-free" instruments.

FED, ECB, PBOC, CBI and BOJ are equally important when regarding long term trend of gold. Their printers are the main drivers for international liquidity.

this is a new rule, not years old.

Basel regulations make gold a more attractive asset for banks by allowing bullion held in vaults or on an allocated basis to be treated as cash with a 0% risk weight. Lowering the capital requirements for gold making it a more demanded asset.

Basel 3 hasn’t into effect yet but the announcement was in feb / march.

I'm closely monitoring spx rn, for a short scalping.
My mind is divided between here, and spx.
It is about reserve ratio, where the gold is accounted as cash, same as it is accounted in balance of payments when central banks import gold bullions.
So in short, on their balance sheet, gold = cash, cash value depreciate over time, gold value act as a hedge.

Its a new regulation, Basel 3 endgame i think it was, but to be effected in July 2025.

We talked about the possible outcome of the FED decision.
Some points were mentioned there that can influence the interest rate decision.

You mentioned Basel 1.3.....and other points
And that's the only thing I asked questions about.
1. do you mean Basel III?
2. Whom does this actually affect? answer: EU only
3. Since when has this regulation existed (probably since 2010) - so does it now have any actually relevance?
4. Which central banks are stashing the most gold? (How important is it for US storing Gold in Europe?)
5. Aren't it Russia and China who have made the most storage of Gold in there Centralbanks?

Conclusion: how helpful is the reference to Basel III in order to assume something about the interest rate decrease in the USA in 2 days.

basel3.1 (endgame is a worldwide consortium) including the USA.. there has been big kick back from the large banks in the states saying it’s unnecessary but they are as much involved as Europe.

we were talking about rates but I referred to drivers for gold and what’s making it (imo) rise and it is the new Basel 3.1 or endgame regulations as it benefits gold as an asset which can be stored as cash, which when you think about its stability in u certain times, makes complete sense.

theres a wealth of info on it from analysts and news stories alike, do some digging so you can get your head around its direct effect to the gold price.
