Trading Us100 using technical analysis requires trading and analysing the market using repetitive patterns and studying momentum.
To be honest, Market Patterns are repititive but tricky. So its left for the trader to take propre intellect to have your heads above waters.
Tools for trading Nasdaq.

Exponential Moving Average EMAs

This is using Exponential Moving Average to trade Nas100

Lets talk briefly on EMAs
An exponential moving average (EMA) is a type of moving average (MA) that places a greater weight and significance on the most recent data points.1 The exponential moving average is also referred to as the exponentially weighted moving average. An exponentially weighted moving average reacts more significantly to recent price changes than a simple moving average simple moving average (SMA), which applies an equal weight to all observations in the period.

To be Honest Relying on EMAs for sucessful trading will only lead you to assertive failure. so we need to support with MACD indicator bearing in mind that yoyu know how to trade using Support and Resistance.
So lets start with the patterns that will make us locate sucessful trades in the market.

  1. Cross Over on EMAs and MACD.
  2. Rebound on EMAs inline with MACD
  3. Breakout on EMAs
  4. Double Tops/Bottoms in line with MACD
  5. M and Z patterns in line with MACD.

CROSS OVER ON EMA AND MACD

03/09/2024

This is when the 2 or more of yoyr desired EMAs cross each other to signal a buy or sell descision in the #us100 Market.

This descision need to be confirmed using another confirmation signal from the MACD indicator.

If The MACD crosses along with the EMAs indicator, then you can enter.

The Image Showned below is a typical indication of a sell signal for Us500 that happened this month as highlighted using a straight Red Line.

CONTINUATION ON EMAs AND MACD

From the Image presented above, it was clear that the MACD cross over aligned with the EMAs Line triggering a sell Signal.
So we need to be gradual with the information in order not to get it twisted.
Note: Cross Over Must Allign with each other before you place this trade.

CROSS OVER ON EMA AND MACD

This is also a buy signal that alligns with cross over from both indicators (MACD & EMAs). This signal happened on the 10th September, 2024.

The corellation between the two indicators will provide you guidiance on how to trade.

You say to align the crossover of MACD and two ema's. So, in fact, you are actually aligning the crossover of 2 pairs of MA's. ??

MACD & other oscillators are only useful to see Divergence signals, Regular & Hidden divergence. IMHO.

I said your descicion will be based on the allignment of your two indicators.
I.e both indicators will have to signal a buy before you enter.

i do have a system in place that guide me to execute a trade.
Be Hold am soley a Nas100 Trader (Sometimes Sp500 when my balance is low).
As you have seen this strategy is my only source o livelyhood. i am not saying its the most perfect but its a whole lot.
I rely on MACD for overall market Momentum.
I use Support and resistance
I use Exponential Moving Average
How I Trade
I enter the market when sense a buy from MACD, EMA
i.e If am seeing a buy signal on the EMAs, i will have to confirm using MACD to see the market direction.

How I Exit and Enter The Market
My entry and exit is based on the experience i had with Support and Resistance
I.e if am selling, i will make sure i place my Tp at exactly or close to market support.

NAS 100 Weekly Oveview

Nas100 Closed At 19508.35 yesterday. We are looking to to sell Nas100/Sp500 considering the divergence signaled by MACD.
EMAs are still showig bullish considering the lagging nature of the moving average indicator.
We will be bracing for a sell next week InshaAllah

If the tech signals are to be followed correctly, your annotated red arrow is also correct.

Hi idrisa

You asked for constructive criticises so can I show you how I actually traded the NQ (Nas100) recently. My setup.
EMA's are good - 21 should be your primary short term EMA with. perhaps the 55, 89 or 200 being the longer term moving average.
MACD isn't needed, you can already see the signals with EMA's, why add more junk.

The secret is to ADD ON PULLBACKS and place your stop AWAY FROM OTHER TRADERS.

This was my trade setup I took and it contained 3 trades and I exited for a nice profit - Stops I normally place close to my entries then moved to BE.

You can trade it on Spot (here you get many fake spikes to take out stops) or in Future's where the Money return is far higher with less spikes to clean out stops so you can have your stop closer.

PS. You can make a living by trading Pinbars / Doji's in areas of pullbacks around the 21 EMA / 55 EMA areas as long as you follow the trend.

I am similar to you except I use an EMA channel. Each side of the channel set to the same length but one is at the high and the other low. Additionals made at pull backs into the channel. I have 50, 100 and 200 sma's too as an additional guide. Experimenting with a half trend indi but its not really working out.
I wont use MACD for divergence. At the end of the day its just another 2 MA's crossing anyway. Too many indicators working on the same principal is pointless. I do use the Minions Labs Price Momentum as it exagerates divergence very well and very clearly (or at least it does if you set all the colours the same do reduce visual noise !!)

The Minions Labs Price Momentum indy looks interesting but far too complicated for my liking.
I use a boring old normal "Momentum" indy set at 12, I think you can guess how I trade it.

i love your work, its remarkable. But removing The MACD is not going to work for me.
My kind of trade is one where i love to see the potential, momentum of every market move.
So i use MACD to test for momentum
Using the same Image as a case study. my analysis will only allow me to make 2 trades out of the chart below.
This Entries were confirmed (clearly) by the cross over from the MACD.

For potential divergence I look other indi but the concept is the same.
