Trading the Cable swings via averages

Here's my thinking for the next couple weeks. Divergence on the weekly chart suggesting a down move.
Divergence on the daily to take us down to the EMA and maybe further. Not seeing any long trade opportunities as yet.

Then there is the opposite point of view for an attempt on those HH averages...



Very hard to predict those long-term events.

This is the sort of analysis to make for a trade for a winning risk reward...

Hoping this one will hit before NFP but if it doesn't, I have moved to stop to BE+ in case the spread widens at NFP time.

Bingo, I got it.

Glad I got paid on that else it would have stopped me out before going massively my way.

I noted the spread jumped to 10.4 phew!

On the hourly we see we hit that average swing high with price and the current average is trying for a HH.


Time to knock off.

See how we had an ABCD followed by a bear div when Europe opens. (Even if we took the earlier one 20 minutes previous, we would still not have been stopped out.

A bear div is supposed to cross the average and find support. (Which it did)

So where is the target below the average. Well, we hope for D1 and in this case we get it.

Been a busy day today. Up then down then up then down again. Here are my plots for the day...



I closed at that last green arrow down, about an hour ago but I was waiting to see if the average made a LL.

Grabbed a few pips today. +25 on the long, H1 divergence went short for +45
Screen time is still a problem for me and the daily trading idea drove me potty with too much waiting around so jumped back on the M5 and M15 for some action

Grab a few more pips after that fed news. M5 divergence as well as H1. +85

I am beginning to wonder if this drive north is going to hit the swing high average this month...

It doesn't look to be too difficult a task.

This uptrend is looking weak.

My Take =

A good week after all that trying to trade the daily charts. Some bad days mixed with good days. Happy with that.

Todays trading. +40 Long and +35 Short. Nice

Nearly there on the monthly...

Managed to grab +27 pips today before the daily open retest or mega hook if you want to call it that. D1 in divergence but the trend is up. Been having issues with failed divergence again. Seems I get better results when the pair is ranging. ABCD on the H4 now so might be a trip to the daily EMA.
