How long have you traded for?

theres no battle. u people immediately get uncomfortable n clam up whenever something arises in da conversation dat makes it all uncomfortably real. i get it pal. but try this one on for good measure = u all r doin this !!tradin thing!! right, in an environment, through the lens of both an industry AND sector that has repeatedly shown, in the last 100yrs, to be highly untrustworthy. AND u all go to great lengths to defend it. Tell me, does that sound sensible? intelligent? to me it seems very similar to stockholm syndrome.

so im sorry 4 statin the obvious. but wen u people r like this, it shows you have zero credibility and cannot be trusted with anythin you say or show. try it from my position = i can sit here n scroll thru this site n see quickly !!nope that doesnt work in real life!! or !!that only works wen this or that happens so is irregular!! etc etc.

I think he is going through a phase. He seems to not be at peace with the world. Trading requires nerves of steel and failure can hit you in many ways and twist you apart. I feel that there is something I should say to help but I don't know what yet.

the curious thing about all of it, is, IF you have bothered to deliberately access and get a taste of different areas of the planet's markets, you begin to see specific trends in what goes on and how things are done. this has nothing to do with your g.spot.glorious n pretty websites no. it has to do with the cold hard facts of what people hate looking at. its also curious to read the pussied up comments here about everything BUT anything REAL that has been said. this tells people like me that people here are novices in terms of the world. whatever !!knowledge!! you think you have accumulated has no bearing. you can put people like me on ignore, be a revolting little kid about it n go on pretending that its anything but what it really is.

so to me n people like me you have no credibility coz as soon as you withdraw ur funds from your account then the real life fun stuff begins. so why should people like me do anything BUT make fun o people who make it a habit to run away from reality? you make it too easy. its not abut trolling dumbasses, its about talkin shit or talkin real. there are specific things that are real n constant in trading. but none of the people round here appear to exhibit any of the qualities. so all your !!big person talk!! has no credibility.

i can poke a stick at online garbage all day coz it aint real. indicators are not FOREWARD capable (yes i spelled foreward correctly here). volume is the same. structure is the same. timeframes are the same. dig coins are too. and on n on we go. seeing a pattern yet?

so how long you been trading where it really COUNTS ???? now THAT'S a great question to ask here.

heres a simple point = if you cannot use a basic indicator for its capable competent purpose then custom indicators cannot help you. if you cannot actually read a price chart then nothing else like volume or OD will help. if you don't understand people beyond dumb shit like !!greed or fear!! then you're not knowledgeable your're a novice. see a pattern yet? if you don't understand the things that really work then you are done b4 you even get off these pussied up websites. if you dont bother to stop pretending then theres always gonna be someone who can read you like a childrens book.

so take it or leave it. its no about being (handi) capable its about being handy but always capped. why always capped? well u think about it.

as a final point here = your eyeballs can tell u in a second if something is trendable or not? tell you if its up or down. tell you if youre forcing something. tell you what fits into/with what. its the same lesson when lookin at ur !!political systems!!. your leaders dont have the power to change things. only the internal processes can n do do that. and theyre setup by people not indicators etc. or leaders.

I started out trading stocks in the early '90s. I had a housemate, a grad student in pharmacology, who showed me a thing or two. He was Swiss, came from money, I surmise. Every month or so he would disappear for a week, gone to Caracas. He said he had family there. Was always a lot richer when he came back. If you know what I mean. But he was rich anyway. He was trading pharma stocks, things I never heard of. No doubt he had inside info. He was cleaning up. I piggybacked his trades on Etrade and made beer money, while he was making new house money. Anyway, he graduated and went back to Europe. Last I heard he was retired from Pharma & married to a Princess. An actual one....some people...

Anyway, it was the mid nineties and I started to meet people trading stocks. Microsoft was a common rags to riches story. I met people (Microsoft employees) in Seattle and Portland who had been paid in stock when MSFT was basically a penny stock. People who were basically office staff who had been paid in stock or stock options and who had 50,000 shares, actual paper shares, stuck in a dresser drawer in their basement. For a while there, in the nineties, MSFT was doing 2:1 or 3:2 splits almost every year, so if you started out with 10,000 shares, you could have 10x that 10 years later, just from the splits. Of course, most people sold, but I met nice people who were retired at 35, sitting on choice Seattle real estate, all from MSFT. So I traded some MSFT and other names and made some beer money. And also paid for college tuition.

I dabbled around like this for a decade and never took it seriously. Mostly because I was living paycheck to paycheck. After about 2005, when I had earned some money to invest, I started trading stocks more actively. And then took a 5 year journey with forex. And then started trading options, and have stuck with that for the last 10 years. So that's about 30 years of diddling around in the markets. I would have been a lot better off, by far, if I had just sat on MSFT shares (at one time in 1994 or so I think I had 5000 shares) forever. Almost all the people I know who have gotten rich trading have done just that - bought good stocks and sat on them.

My approach to trading is completely different to my approach when Investing (I've traded for circa 15 years and Invested for near on 30 years)

In the grand scheme of things - INVESTING wise - , I'm in the GANN camp - I believe things are ordered, I believe they are structured, I believe that higher orders are at force, whether they be planetary forces or just natural occurring forces that are hard to explain that then convert into cycles, that you can Invest/trade from

If you take what @The Fool writes above - about buying brilliant companies and just HOLDING onto to them - Its true, the hard part is knowing which company is going to be the next Nvidia, Microsoft etc - so you could fill your portfolio with the top tech companies and see which perform or buy the Index and track - the Index is an average so you have to accept the dilution

So coming back to that Gann theme of structure and order - are things really? and how can we use The Fool's comment about Livermore and buying right and just sitting tight? (We know Livermore was talking about trading and just letting a position run)

Well I think this is a pretty damn good way..................

This chart is the DJIA - used to show you the historical REPEAT - you would now USE the NASDAQ100 Index, as that will be the Index that motors

It shows a pretty clear repeating pattern - On a side note, you can "predict" economic actions that will be taken throughout each respective period - anyway, in the DOWN sections, there's ALWAYS a mid cycle LOW - that is the point to just buy all in and HOLD, trail up a very wide stop and tightening it as the end of the UP cycle section is drawing in - you can short the DOWN sections too, but you need to know the internals of the cycle

If you look at the mid cycle lows you will find that they are circa 34 years apart

If you get a chart of the NASDAQ100 for the 2000 high, you will see it collapsed 80% ish just like the DJIA of 1929 (the pattern was event the same!) this is because the EXACT same cycle was REPEATING EXACTLY - the next time this happens in 2067-71 (I'll probably be close to being dead then or dead already!), the SAME devastating collapse will happen all over again, anyway, the point being in the speculative market at that time, that would be the point to invest all in rather than the mid-cycle low

Anyway, If you get your TIMING right, you can make a mint, or lose a mint - There seems to be some order in the US stock markets - you can still make money buying and holding in the down sections, but it is ten times more harder than in the up cycles, hence why The Fool's friends made a killing in Microsoft stock in the 1990's



PS - the chart shows just a basic analysis static cycle - the 1929 "Inversion" can be completely explained and predicted if we use planets for the cycle analysis, but we won't go there and this repeating up/down sequence can be visually traced back to 1792 when the Dow started trading

This is a market I'm looking to get into - Natural Gas

It has a static 4 year cycle that has repeated reliably, we should get some movement soon, then a big climax if it follows its normal order - the expected cycle low was for FEBRUARY 2024 - I've not updated the screen shots, but you can prove to yourself the move of the market off that expected low




There's definitely order out there - the hard part is finding it and working out a way to exploit/use it

and on a completely different subject - pass this down to your families, you saw the hysterics of the world and govt action over this - the VAST majority of people are safe from this, but some will succumb to it, so make sure your family generations alive at the next occurrence know about this

This is interesting because with options (selling options) one can have a real edge, the so called "theta", or time decay, works for the seller, his position gains by the day with no effort. There is no such edge in the other instruments.
