Just want to highlight this to newbies who maybe haven’t gone near or learnt about them yet & how valuable they can be when picking a top is almost impossible, but knowing it will be lower in X timeframe isn’t.

A. Make you money (possibly a lot, possibly a little)
B. Save you from “possibly” blowing your account.
the picture posted is of options that expire 28/1/2025
Do you think the price will reach 2180 by 28/1/2025 ?? Do you think it will drop below ?? Do you think it will drop soon but not reach that price ?
to open 1 put position at 2180 it currently costs £8.80 per position, the equivalent of 1 point below that number. For £880 you can open a 100 point position that has a 6 month expiry. If it dropped to 2080 within that timeframe you would make at least £9120.
It is a time adjusted price, ie: if it drops quickly then the price will rise relatively. The time left to expiry + distance = put price.
in short. If it dropped to 2400 in September, you would make good profit because the time adjusted rate is a long time + 2/3rds the price. You have have 6 months to hold it irrelevant of what happens in the mean time.
chance of success, if you hold a small account = very greatly increased.
At such times they are worth their weight in GOLD.
