Hi Coders, can someone please have a look at the attached EA. When it trades it opens orders 0.01, 0.06 then 0.31. That is way to big. Is it possible to code in a multiplier which can be set to a specific value or can the lots be made to grow in sequence as 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.04 etc. Any help much appreciated. Thank you

Got SL.
If I had been observing, not sleeping, I would have closed on the Bullish signal and gone Long.
And, consistently, I would have had to open Short on the new Bearish signal.
The question remains, would I have made a profit on the Long?
Would I have made more profit on the Long than I had lost?
Or, would I have had another SL?
I will say, that more likely than not, I would have had another SL, because the price would not have reached my TP...

So, my point is not that this indicator is bad, or good.
My point is that there is no indicator or strategy which guarantees TP and not SL.
And only the trader can tip the scales in their favor.

And also, it always looks good on the historical charts.
Problem is, we can't make money by trading historical charts.
Scammers can make money by selling ideas based on the historical charts, and that's the sad thing.

In MQL4 there is no such identifier as SYMBOL_TRADE_ALLOWED.

if you are seeking my personal way to put SL for this particular indicator
please look at the white boxes i put with clear fractal highs/ lows but if you have a system which gives you the direction then you can only take trades for one direction at a time.

Well, in the case of the SL trade, that's how my SL was placed!

It's not about how to place the SL.
It's about when to close profit, if the profit is there.
Even if we have the SL placed "correctly", we can still get it because the price never reached the TP.
And that is the whole problem with trading!

You see, reality is that in total RR must be on our side in order to make profit.
And also, reality shows that RR is impossible to achieve in any reasonable, predictable way.
It seems like the only way to get RR is to break the rules and go heavy when the price is moving strongly.
That's why there are no rules, here.

And, again, you are showing the past...
It is easy to give "good" advice on historical charts!

i was only giving my way for putting sl because you are talking about your sl is gone.
with new picture i can see that there is an opposite signal before your sl if you had not taken profit. but look that is not my business here, that is completely different thing. all i m doing here is trying to see if my testing indicator is any good in anyways. now i shall stop it here, no further versions, i want you remain in peace, period.

Yes, your indicator is both good and not good.
It may sound illogical, but it is true, because any indicator is only an indicator.
It is neither good nor bad - it is what it is.
The indicator does not make money!
Unless you sell it to ignorant people!

A truely good indicator would be one that showes us the following before the fact:
1. Entry price,
2. SL price,
3. TP price,
4. All above with RR more than 1,
5. The win ratio of this indicator must be minimum 50% and more.

Also, what is a truely good indicator?

A truely good indicator would be one that shows us the following before the fact:
1. Entry price,
2. SL price,
3. TP price,
4. All above with RR more than 1,
5. The win ratio of this indicator must be minimum 50% and more,
6. This indicator must be easily encoded into an EA.

Can You provide such an indicator?

Hi everyone,

Could someone point me to the type of moving averages that appears on the screen please?

It seem smoother than exponential or simple moving average.
Im not looking to trade crosses or anything like that but to cacth the short term trend and the moving average on the screen look smooth and nice and follow the trend closely
