List all currency pairs?

Hi...

I am working on indicators that take the overall average for a currency. For this I need to get a list of all currency pairs a provider allows... I cannot find any function in MQL that will give this... Has anyone done something like this before?

A sample of what I am talking about is attached. I had to list all of the currencies manually...

I'm afraid there isn't such a function in MQL4, probably will be a good addition in MQL5

is there any problem listing them manually? after all, you'll only have to list them once.

if you HAVE to do it programmatically. perhaps you can make use of the 8 major currencies and form the pairs programmatically with for loops into an array. then make use of MarketInfo() to weed out those not offered by your broker. You won't get the exotic pairs listed but the major ones will be in your grasp.

Thanks... I didn't think there would be one... but I thought I would try...


Anyway... the only problem with listing the pairs manually is that you would have to do it every time you used the indicators with a new provider... this would probably become annoying if you had several indicator files...

anyway... thanks... I guess I'll just go on with the others the same way.. or work on your idea first...

Theres nothing OOTB that does this but you CAN write a function for it. Fortunately for you, I happen to have one I use it as a part of my GoHan Scanner: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=124995

Basically, it scrolls through all the possible currency pairs and checks for a price - if a price is returned then it means the broker supports it and puts it in an array that contains all the valid pairs. After you run the function, any time you want access the pairs, just scroll through the array.

For those interested...

There are three lines
Blue and Red show the way the two currencies in a pair are performing overall (Compared to all other currencies possible)
Green shows the adx for the current pair (+ve means the first currency is getting stronger, -ve means the second currency is getting stronger)

I suppose in the comparison blue is the first, red is the second, correct?
