For XAUUSD, a single pip usually represents a one-cent move in the price. This means if the price moves from $1800.00 to $1800.01, it has moved one pip.

And something from a newb 2415-2447 is actually 3200 pips ... just like $1800.00 to $1832.00 (18(3200).

For EURUSD and others i consider pips as my unit.

2400.00 --> 2401.00 = 100 pips = 1 point

Agree, but they are both talking about pips not points. The post I quoted says and even explains pips ... unless multiple spelling mistakes .

It was just additional context. 2400.00 --> xxxx.xx --> points.pips
I usually don't count pips at all when trading gold. My crumbs are not that big
