Hi guys,

Conscious we all have our own ways and means of trying to make money in this funny little market but thought maybe I'd share a small part of how I aim to gain confidence in a move in case anyone was interested...

As some may already know , a part of my setup is to use comparatives in price action and movement between the DXY and the EU.

The calculation I would typically use to determine comparative price movement between DXY ($points) and EU (pips) is 7.75 $points per EU pip. This is a simple calculation to determine the average movement between daily highs and lows of both assets going back to beginning last year (with any abnormalities removed e.g. +1000point DXY moves).

In the screen shots posted earlier, the DXY movement required (to create the narrative I'm anticipating) is 230 points. The EU movement required to create the movement in the earlier chart is 30pips. Using the average calculation (230 $points / average 7.75 $points) equates to 29.7pips, which gives me some confidence that there is dollar support for my anticipated sell (should it get there).

Obviously, there's no guarantees in this game but thought perhaps some folks might be interested

The EU didn't hit the initial low spot before overshooting the mark by 7 pips while waiting for the $Dollar but both now in place.

Shorting the EU - Let's see if it's a pass or a fail (lesson learned )
