Better still have a look at fxdreema (others are available) and make your own EAs, I've posted the parameters previously and the logic is very simple, it's worth investing the time if you want to automate anything, believe me. Imagine if you come up with some genius logic and start making hat fulls of cash, wouldn't be much use if you couldn't edit the EA yourself?
Sounds like a lot of screen time to me.

Ok i will try it. Thank you. I just tested what you posted and want upgrade it. Put some more rules for money managment etc..

Have a look at that EA compiling site, I've made quite a few now and use them for all sorts of alerts, screen displays, basket closing EAs. Gets quite satisfying once you get going, you'll need to get your head around variables and constants but this isn't as tricky as you might think once you get the "a ha" moment. I think you can make EAs with up to 10 links for free so no cost to practice anyway. Also, I've been constantly surprised how things behave once you introduce some randomness in your entries, sounds counter-intuitive but I suspect an EA which entered everytime someone said "bonnet de douche" (I like the current French theme) on TV, would still outperform many.
Sounds like a lot of screen time to me.

I'll also have a look, I do it for a hobby but never trade them, mainly to test my manual ideas. I use EA Builder but it's very basic.

Look at this one, you mentioned to someone about being adaptive, look at this curve in year 2 (based on two years)...

For 500 trades I'm god, then the rest I've lost my mansion, Ferraris, race whores I mean horses and pissing in my own fountain.... that's why I can't trade EA's.

Can i ask you where i can back tested it ? Do you recomend me somethink ?

Just add logic: After_trades (value=500) trading{stop}.
EAs handy for some jobs and concept checking but not sure I could rely on them full time.
Sounds like a lot of screen time to me.

Once you have the EA, download and test using MT4 for free.

Hi lddd,

I've been in the background on the thread for sometime, only recently commenting. Some feedback intended to help. Pls don't be defensive on this. If you find yourself getting wound up by my comments, being defensive, or them having emotional affect in any way then take that response as substantiating my feedback that you need to focus on self-awareness and focus not on new trading strategies right now but focus on how to refine your style of thinking, evaluation, mindset, open your thinking etc.

There are serious traders on here. You seem to interpret some of what they're doing as fraught with risk / ill thought out and therefore not worthy of evaluation and consideration. As someone said, trading with real $ is the best way to learn and hone style.

You seem to have a rigid way of thinking / evaluating that you are not self aware of. People here are trying to help you but you are not truly absorbing what they are saying, seemingly writing a lot of comments off as unfounded / not relevant / not from serious traders / not worthy of consideration / not fitting with your preferred style. Your trading style doesn't work. Despite knowing this after 15 yrs of trying you don't seem to be genuinely willing to self reflect and understand others' styles and strategies.

Your back testing, comments, trading style etc seem rigid and seeking binary outcomes - win / lose. To succeed in "day trading" which is what you seem to be trying to do, it is necessary to have a mindset that is comfortable with scaling in to positions, or "averaging" as the thread title. You will not succeed without doing this. If you reflect on past trades I am sure you will realise this -how many times have you taken a single entry, got stopped out, watched price move past your stop and then reverse and go the way you sought to make profit?

If you want to trade with with single entries - where you are right and make profit, or you are wrong and get stopped out - you need to change to trading much longer timeframes - weeks / months, with smaller positions and wider stops.

I suggest you seek a book or two on "self awareness", "self reflection", and how to refine your natural way of thinking / problem solving.

this guy is like a ‘refugee’ you've been trying to integrate for years, all the good people have tried and worked on him, but it's a fruitless endeavour...

Hey mate, Ive seen your replys to this thread and ive also gone down the EA path and I can tell you that there is no EA that will be profitable forever. You cannot apply a static ruleset to a dynamic environment and expect it to perform forever or under all circumstances. The thing I struggled with the most from trading is that I have a very linear thinking process and had issues with the randomness of trading. So I started programming EA's to backtest and find an edge that the EA could play over and over. I think there are edges out there that do work for long times but I can tell you for sure no one is going to give that shit away for free. Ive programmed and tested thousands of EA's, I mean hours and hours of programming and testing and never found a meaningfull edge I could exploit. I was so frustrated. so I had to meet somewhere in the middle and programmed something that takes care of the order placing and take profits etc but allows me to control the overall picture. Its more so a tool for me to use in my trading not a blackbox EA. This shit takes years of screentime. either your trading or your programming and testing. if you dont want screentime invest in the S&P 500 and walk away. As for backtesting. I found it good for testing the function of the EA and that your programming is correct but in the real world the results are almost never replicated

Trends never last forever. orders managed about 50% by me and 50% by my EA

Iddd. This is what I'm talking about. WallFlower has employed self-awareness, reflection, learned and modified / refined / adapted his/her natural way of thinking accordingly. Get off trading, focus on this for a few mths and then return

So far neither you nor the other "good people" here have been able to show me a single solution to my problem but a lot of empty words without evidence. I'm not primarily looking for friends here, I'm looking for solutions to my problems. When I leave the forum it's because of people like you who have nothing to offer but are constantly bullying.
