The week begins with a diverse outlook. Retail trading volumes are climbing steadily, reaching new peaks, yet volatility remains low.
Except for the NZD, which has an ADR of 48%, all other currencies hover around 30%. This certainly provides ample opportunity for strategic moves should a trend in volume arise.
Currently, we must patiently await the development of a favourable scenario.

It seems we're in for another uneventful day. We're nearly at the midpoint of the trading day, and yet again, all currencies are fluctuating below 40% of their Average Daily Range (ADR). The only potential excitement is the upcoming CPI data from Canada, which might inject some activity this afternoon. In the absence of volume trends, it's akin to sailing in a calm sea. Since we're avoiding unnecessary risks, patience is king.

Here's a glimpse of my personal trading dashboard, displaying the ADR ratio for each currency separately.

Recall what I mentioned this morning about the ADR? If you missed it, feel free to check my previous post.

As the London session closes, it's evident that market dynamics were minimal. Even the CPI announcement for CAD only nudged it to 78% of its ADR, which is gradually decreasing due to the ongoing low volatility over the last fortnight.

This exemplifies what I mean by 'sailing in calm waters.' It's imprudent to wager any money right now, and my earlier assessment has proven spot-on. It's straightforward – the evidence is there in the FX Volume and FX Power.
The key to consistent trading is discerning when it's prudent to risk capital and when it's not.

In terms of news, there is just one significant event today, the US consumer confidence, which I consider to be non-critical.

Today's Asian session ended with a pretty massive bearish move across all JPY pairs. It wasn't any news. It was pure market action, with many traders closing out their BUY positions in these pairs. We can see this perfectly in our FX volume analysis. The massive rise in net long volume on the JPY at 04:40 GMT was a sign of how this is going to continue. I'll look at this more closely later and will keep you updated.

In terms of news, there are two to three high impact USD publications to consider today.

Today's Asian session ended with a pretty massive bearish move across all JPY pairs. It wasn't any news.
It was pure market action, with many traders closing out their JPY BUY positions in these pairs, as seen below.



The great thing about these massive volume trends is that they work across all pairs of the currency involved.














There was no drawdown at all as all the pairs went down, and we could have used a tight stop on the last high of the M5.
The summed profit of this two-hours trend was: 0 (BE) + 35 + 60 + 30 + 35 + 40 + 50 = 250 Pips!
This combined with a high-lot size due to the tight stops is A LOT of money.

Conclusion: The market insight that FX Volume provides is priceless, but we are bringing it right to your charts!

Today's trading session has started a little more volatile and I hope we'll see more market activity in the coming days. The direction is not clear yet and we don't see any volume trends or interest in new trading positions. It's just the ADRs that are showing a bit more activity than the last few days/weeks.

There have been some questions about how I judge trends.

So these are my rules: The first trend is always the long-term 1W trend, while the momentum reflects the short-term 4H analysis. Below 10 is neutral, 10-20 is weak, 20-30 is medium, above 30 is strong. This applies to both directions.
