The UK has raised rates by .25 bp to 5.75%. The market was widely expecting this move and we are now seeing some GBP/USD buyers come to market. It is interesting that the short term benchmark rate for the UK, now at 5.75% is just 50bp below that of Australia. Those looking for "carry opportunities" will potentially opt for GBP at these rates over AUD

I guess the market is waiting for the finally piece of news before a BIG move...The GBPJPY have been bound range for about two weeks around 248 as the HIGH and 246 as the LOW.
