I would agree w/ stockjay on this I was able to lock in +30pips and my trades are setup since 10pm last night and Steviet EUR/USD are locking in pips nicely and he was thinking about closing them on Friday

It looked like a op to me last friday when I bought. I am still in the trade.. We shall see what happens.
The reason I thought it was an oportunity right at that time, was because of the compression in price that had taken place. The more price tends to compress like this, the bigger the breakout... I was just not sure on direction, so I placed a stop entry buy, because I did not want to be fighting the longer term trend.
friday this pair made a tipical triangle breakout (4h, 1d) and continued the trend.
don't panic to much, it's natural to loose, and since the pair went up probably more people won then loose(at leat i know for sure there were more longs then short)

Exactly. Look at a typical NFP action on a 5 min chart and compare that same action on a daily chart. Which chart does the action go way beyond several ATRs and Standard Deviations? Which chart is it barely even noticeable? Since forever, over 99% of financial analysis and indicators work on the assumption that prices fall into a nice, easy to work with, Gaussian distribution. The fact is that the smaller the timeframe you use, the further away from this distribution you go, and you get something harder to work with like a Cauchy distribution.
I have something called the "25 rule": If your chart's timeframe is such that it produces more than appx. 25 bars (plus/minus 2) per trading day, the timeframe is too small. On FX, 1H is the smallest chart I use, and in US stocks, 15M chart is the smallest I use.

This pair was slightly, only slightly negative, til it went positive on 6.28.07 when it made a break of 3480, than fundies where negative usd., which has sealed the deal for now.
Tell me more... I got hit few month back by GJ. Amazing pips lost.

Hi,
If you refer to the daily chart, it is obvious that the trend is forming a double top trying to test a very strong resistance at 1.3682. That is why I had position my trade since last friday with 2 lots and exit yesterday.
The market move for today is a bit difficult for me to determine now because the resistance has almost hit and the daily RSI at period 14 is overbought. I suggest you wait and see before you carry on with EUR.
