I think you plotted a buy limit on the bar status before the "green bar break" appear, and I waited for the break bar of the level to plot the order on the bar status for the next one, but then it reversed and probably thatīs why my stop was hit.

The ES/MES HOLO long in the pre-market looks like it was indeed the trade of the day. Had I been able to get that entry, I'd still be long and my stop would be at 5203.50 for +40 ticks locked in, and the take profit would still be at 5214 which would be a +82 tick profit.

I'm hoping the tech issues are sorted out once and for all and tomorrow I'll be able to trade properly.

Tomorrow my schedule at the moment is such that it will not allow me to be at my desk to trade the full AM session.

I enter a stop order 1 tick above the bar status.

For example, (this is SIM and I cancelled the order after I took this pic) if I wanted to enter long, I'd place my buy stop one tick above the high of this candle, which the bar status indicator tells us is 18127.25.

I agree, He thinks he is a trading god. really just bragging and looking for validation. I busted his chops a little yesterday. He was posting results but would not say what his indicators and methods of trading really are. And he was the one bringing it up. So I called him out nicely of coarse. Posting should be fun and a discussion. I post a little on my thread. But I do not do it everyday. I am not here to trade every day. But Methods and how to stuff is or can be done what is important. If he gets out of hand I might bust his chops a little more. All talk and no substance. If it were me and I am only speaking for myself I would still post and just ignore him and people like him. After awhile the new traders will see through his crap.

Anyway keep posting and trading and having fun. Every now and then I trade your charts just for fun. Then back to my old stuff. Be Blessed.

ES HOLO long still cooking its way to yesterday's high.

I added the red high of day and the green low of day levels to show where price has to trade to first before I'd enter a buy stop or sell stop to enter a HOLO position.

Too bad I missed that long entry this morning.

I wouldn't still be holding, but it would have been a nice profit nonetheless.

It looks like I am having an on-going intermittent problem with the two data connections going into Ninjatrader at the same time. I'm going to focus on the NQ prop firm for the next several days until I pass that evaluation, then I will focus on the CL and ES HOLO trades to pass the other eval.

The reason for the data connection troubles were because I was running two prop firm feeds + my own feed into Ninjatrader. This was because I added an Apex prop eval yesterday because Apex, which I generally do not like because of the way they calculate the trailing drawdown, is running their "pass in one day" special again.

So, after getting the kinks worked out late yesterday morning, I managed to pass it with this morning's trades. I don't know how Apex works from here. They have a terrible "dashboard" and not so great communication. I'll keep you posted on how things go as far as getting access to a funded account, any payouts I may be able to earn, etc.

It is a "$150K" account lol (I laugh because it is really a $5K drawdown account) and my profit goal was $9K. The last trade today I set the take profit to get me over the top rather than hold for a full +60 ticks.

I have now disconnected from the Apex connection so that I don't accidentally trade this eval account and fall back below the profit objective.

CL HOLO chart. For the first time in 7 trading days, CL has low of day break out traders in the market. Unless CL reverses and takes out yesterday's high to make today an outside up day, then the high of day break out traders' streak ends at 6 days of bull breakout traders in the market.

$81.03 was last week's high. Weekly bull breakout traders are still in the market.

$80.08 and $80.26 are the two weekly highs previous to last week's breakout. Two weeks of oil bulls in the market.

My plan for today: I'm going to sit this one out and see where the dust settles after the FOMC and the talking head presser this afternoon. For the day, oil is in bear break down mode. But overall, the bulls still in control until proven otherwise.

If the 81.03 level fails to hold, then look for a 50% retrace of the entire rally from the 3/11 low.

If the 50% fails, then the potential is for oil to go outside down on the week.

NQ renko. After my profits on the long at the open, I did not attempt another long because 1) a 2b top (failed breakout/stop hunt reveral) and 2) price was extended above the 34 ema. Once price retraced to the 34 ema, it not only never signalled a long entry, but gave a cross & close short entry, which I did take,

Two more profitable shorts (I did not take) followed by a short loss (third pullbacks have the worst odds in general), and now a trading range. No reason to try any more shorts in here unless the conditions I noted on the chart take place. Especially as we now have a low and a higher low.

The vertical bars are 7AM until 12 noon, which are the hours during which I trade. I sometimes trade the afternoon, but in general I try to be done by the time London closes at 11:30 AM my time here in new york.

CL bearish breakout mode continues, and price has returned, at least for the moment, back below last week's high.

If bears pick up the pace, I'd be expecting them to tagrt the 50% retrace of this rally at $79.67

But bears should have their work cut out for them, as bull breakout traders who missed Monday's breakout might use this pullback to buy at prices not seen since two days ago lol

So here is what I find completely stupid with respect to Apex prop accounts and it is why I feel they really are set up to force failure and not to help traders get funded and succeed: The trailing $5K drawdown trails at all times from your highest profit level. So here I am, with $9000+ in closed profits. But the trailing drawdown level at which the account would auto-liquidate and I would have to pay for a reset or wait for my monthly subscription to renew to try again is $154K.

Now, think about it: The nominal starting balance was $150K. If I lose $5K from here, the account is dead, even though the account would still be +$4,000 in profit!

So, my question is this: Is this how Apex does the trailing drawdown for the "funded" accounts also?

Or, will the trailing drawdown auto liquidation level stop at the iniital account balance?

If it is a forever $5K drawdown, then I would not recommend Apex Trader Funding to anyone.

I already know that Apex has the most restrictive rules on actually taking a withdrawal from profits of any futures prop firm I am aware of currently.

I would really like to hear from others who have experience with Apex and other futures prop firms here. Please comment in the journal itself if you are willing to share your experiences as sharing will help everyone who reads this journal and not just myself.

Anyone doing a prop challenge, some of these firms ESPECIALLY Apex, try to hide your current trailing drawdown level from you.

This video shows you how to set up an account window in Tradovate that will protect you from those firms that prey on would be traders by using an intraday trailing drawdown (which fosters BAD trading habits, by the way) instead of the realistic and reasonable end of day trailing drawdown.

In funded account you have initial 5k drawdown. After that it stops trailing.
After that you can lose all you open profits if you like.

Hi there pal!

Iīm actually in a 25k eval account prop firm from Apex, if you have a rithmic account and using ninjatrader for it, you can track your trailing drawdown in the RTRADER app that you should also dowload to have control of your trades history and account.

About the trailing drawdown I have read that if you pass "x" in profit ( donīt remenber if 5k or 10k it stops there, so you can gorw your account from there and be more calm.

btw, congrats on passing your eval account and get funded!!!,You truli deserve it Iīm like 600usd far from burning mine down :C
