Hi 40PipsAlan,

Are you running multiple EA's? Looks like 2 or 3 looking at the magic numbers (and manual trades also). I am about to look at testing this EA and wondered about your results. Appreciate your advice. Do you let it run through big news? NFP etc. Great job and hope the profits keep coming for you.

Yes I have tried numerous EA over the last 5 years and this is the best one by far. I also attempt a bit of manual trading with varying results. This Broker report might help you a bit. Cant send the HTM file as not allowed by FF.
I can say that I did not touch the EA at all since Nov 1st, just sits there on an old PC running 24/7 (4 X MT4 demo running). I expect the manual trades were done by mistake via the MT4 mobile app on the wrong broker, ha easy to do it wrong. Do your backtesting and when you are happy with results stick it on a demo account and let it go. Keep the lots small to start with as a full basket of open trades soon eats into the DD waiting for reversal.
p.s the big GU move up 2 days ago opened a full basket of trades and had me worried for a bit till the good dollar news closed the set out.
Aim for between 3%-5% a week

Just setting up another demo with a 2k set file. Let’s see how this one rocks. 3 month Back test looks good so watch this space.

I recommend using a fixed lot size, and then manually modify the lot size when the account balance doubles.

Yes zhin is right. Fixed lot size but when to increase the lotsize I am still puzzling over. I guess if your weekly profits suits your needs then you could leave it where it is. But you dont want to have too much equity sitting in the account. But then again you also need enough equity in the account to handle the big DD weeks.

Hi Ron,
Been there, seen and done it. Not sure about MT5 backtesting but MT4 strat testing won’t yield the same results as forward testing. I expect demo data feed and live data feed is also different too. You can try Tickstory free or there is a hacked version kicking around I believe. You will get excellent results on back test and think about all the big bucks coming your way. Then reality hits on demo and the account tanks making you wonder why. That’s forex trading for you. Good luck

I gave up on downloading historical data in the Zorin platform. Maybe try tomorrow in Windows. It would be nice to just over right a file.
