Those who want to implement SMC as one of their methods should know about positioning before entries. Don't refer to imbalance (FVG) as an easy method / easy way for entries. Lots of things to do either for buying or selling. Completed your step before entering SMC. For me, SMC is more difficult if we don't understand the micro cycle steps such as

1. Reject Block
2. Order block
3. Liquidity void
4. Imbalance (FVG, BISI, SIBI)
5. Breaker zones (MMSM, MMBM)
6. Mitigations

Put your ideas with charts. and don't be likely a conspiracy theorist. Maybe useful for all. Just a personal suggestion.

Doesn't need a close necessarily, grabbing liquidity there is enough for the reversal, price will re-trace and come back again for more lower SSL

The order block on M5 at 2047 is being respected. Price is jumping on it.
Asking as a newbie to SMC, why is this happening? is it because the OB is still valid or because 2047 is also a support?

I didn't agree with you. Coz there is other liquidity above those numbers. If you do that, you are likely a conspiracy theorist.

Majorly because its a strong support, OB is being respected because of another confluence to support it on the higher time frames.
