So one beautiful moment out of the market hours ( right now ) it drops 3500 pips and almost crashes my account (USD/CNY). I liguidated several trades and went long on USD/CNY.
Now, 5 minutes later it went back to normal, and of course I dont see my trades ( they are still shown in activity though).
So, if this joke did crash my account, I am sure they would say "Oh well.. Market is not easy you know'' And now I was forced to close a whole bunch of positions for nothing.
If crap like this happens a lot on live accounts?
That is not my experience. That was obviously an erroneous spike, trades/orders done on bad prices get reversed, usually pretty fast. I had both stops and take-profits undone on such occasions. For some reason, people always complain about getting their TPs undone, but never when oanda undoes stops/margin calls

Ring them up or contact their support chat, in the 2 simmilar cases i had, they solved it to my satisfaction. It still sucked, because my account was fubar for a few hours.
These erroneous price this morning was due to invalid prices provided to us by our partner banks. All incorrectly executed stop losses, limit orders, take profits, market orders, and margin calls will be reversed as soon as possible.

Vald any station will have it's draw. You can be sure that if Oanda's station accidently went 3500 pips and crashed you that they will pay you back right away most time automatic. Send an e-mail and you will see. It has happened to me a few times over the years and they pay right away. On the other hand if the station crashes in your favor and you close your position and cash in those artificial profit, they will also come back at the end of the day reversing the artificial movement.

Oanda is honest and very fair.

A couple weeks ago Oanda placed an extra $125k in my account and when I spoke with them they said it was a display problem. Well, it wasn't a display problem at all ... I really could have used that money to trade with. That somewhat scares me in this way; what happens if I didn't notice that extra money? I trade 1.5% of my account, by default, on every trade. That 1.5% would have now been equal to ... well ... a lot more than what I can afford.

I still love you Oanda, except the fixed 4 spread on AUD/JPY :

not too long ago, my oanda account had $300K+ more on it for a few minutes. I was going insane looking for a trade that made a lot of bucks...
