Trade the News--are they useful?

A lot of people have suggested for me to use trade the news as a poor man's way of effecitive fundamental infos...should I and if I do, why are they useful...thanks

If you know how to trade fundamentally ... then I suppose they would be useful. Would they be more useful than just headlines/short stories you get free with AFX or Thomson from a broker, I don't know? I personally didn't find them useful and would suggest just using the brokers news feeds.

I agree with StockJay - if you happen to know how to trade news, fading the spike or whatever technique you use, then it's a valid option. If not, I dont see the point.
