It happens here in Europe as well, only 4% of elected politicians are under 30. Only 2 of 100 senators in U.S are below 40 years of age, oldest senator in U.S retired at age of 100.
Trump and Biden are 80+.
Also theocracies such as Iran, Saudi Arabia and Vatican are also gerontocracies.
Maybe it is reflected unto society as a whole when elderly people possess all the power in a communist state? Youth automatically become disadvantaged and are affected by different policys far from their reality and own interests?
Would be interesting to see if there is a big decrease in spending as boomers become to old and rich and already bought everything they need. While the young need everything but can’t get it due to regulations and increased social costs that has to be paid by increased taxes.
So could be double decrease in spending, one to age fallout, other to overregulation and burnout of labour force due to labour shortages.
So yeah.. that EV stuff sounds sweet and all, but time marches on… and there is a big pile of money bound to the geriatric population. The younger population already in great debt, Biden tried to relieve some of it which is nice. Don’t know who are gona buy those cars. The unions are becoming more powerful too, they trying to shut down Tesla in Sweden unless they sign labour union contracts.
Ofc Tesla has to keep labour costs down to make cheap cars in an economic recession.
most people in my age group just wanna work, to escape the system. It’s kinda funny, i see girls laying on the street fixing their old cars just cause everything is so expensive. I’m pretty sure thats not the norm
but yeah makes sense demand will decrease.. but i think the stock market bubble need to burst. But would that do anything good for the economy? The core problems remain..
