Challenge was fun and a good experience. Hope you enjoyed too.
I've ended taking 46th position out of 1462. My last trades were unlucky as I was selling JPY, and buying AU.
If I had ore time those trades would closed in profit. Still ended with 20% profit made on challenge end day.

Hi Jolita

The winner will be trading from a DOM without any candlestick charts because they move too slow to see any patterns form. Strategy’s to use would be to search for Iceberg orders and try and front run them for 2 to 4 ticks with a sizeable order. Another strategy would be to follow the Delta of only large orders as seen on a time and sales column and trade large.

I only trade CME products myself and have also signed up for the challenge, but as I trade only Oil Futures and E Mini S&P Futures - not sure if it’s worth my time to have a crack at it.
I tend to immerse myself in only those 2 markets for a few hours a day and it’s exhausting. I doubt I would have the time spare (time is money) to waste on a challenge anyway.

The winner will be a bond trader frantic, they will probably be quietly spoken and have patience of a saint waiting 50 years to die to see if their savour is nice as the painting they have on their church hall.

I can’t sit still long enough to watch those markets move only a handful of ticks a day, too bloody boring for me.

If I give it a crack (pulling hair out of my scalp sounds more fun), I would go all in on only a few trades for the whole week. Be bold, be aggressively but most importantly with bond and interest rate markets, try not to full asleep.

Trading thin liquidity at the boundary of the charts

Hi Rick,

Nice to hear from you.
Do you trade futures much?

As you mentioned, it can be very exhausting and should prioritise your trading first. I will be working that week, will put a few trades on my free time and if my sentiment is good, great. For me it is all about the feel and experience.
I will look to find info on Iceberg and Delta orders.
My past challenges was done pretty much on instinct, using naked mobile charts and all in, 3x10. I've tested WTI and FX challenges those far. Have you noticed, a delay on FX future price movement compared to spot price? If you trade, monitor FX spot pairs, you will know where futures will head next.

I've tried some tick charts before,.
Interest rate futures can be volatile in September, again, north or south depends on rate sentiment. For Bond market sentiment stock market will give a clue. Stocks lower makes bond treasury yields higher. My knowledge is limited.
Lots of fun ahead, exciting.
Thanks for your advice Rick, wish you good luck.

Thanks. I had a horrible Wednesday and went down 20%. I got lucky Thursday. Then, I knew I couldn't come back so I just finished with a decent return.

I'll keep an eye out for the next one.

Good job still !
I didn't have much time to participate.
I set trades after hours and was against the trend most of the time, holding but reversing in profit later. Still decent profit can be made. Pros made up to 60% profit, unbelievable..

Next challenge -
Equity Index Futures
STARTS
Sunday, October 22
5:00 p.m. CT

I get it. With bonds you have to be really active during the key times in order to try and take advantage of the volatility.
