There were many rumors of the end of MT4 and as many here trade with it, I believe they are worried. Is there another platform with ON/OFF indicators or a more current platform that has the same functionality as MT4?

Rumors are just rumors; would you close something that is working and making a LOT of money?

You can try Tradingview or Metatrader 5 for free.

man, with all due respect to mt4 users I hope this never happen. I am an MT5 enjoyer and would like to still see people use mt4 and not just transferred to MT5 because they are forced to do so.

They have been trying to push people to MT5 for years, in fact you can only get MT4 through a broker, and even brokers can not get new MT4 servers. I would not be surprised, but is not that simple as shutting down, specially when the majority of brokers their volume is way bigger in MT4 than MT5.

The release of 32-bit installers has been discontinued. Previously installed 32-bit platform versions will work until January 1, 2024, however they haven't said anything about stopping MT4.

This maybe explains why I'm having a problem to download MT4 from FXIFY and they do not know why..
So how can I get around this problem..

Considering your computer is not older than 10-15 years and the processor can run in 64 bit, you will need to do a clean installation of your windows to upgrade.

Thank you everyone for your contributions, but I believe what we fear for the end of MT4 is because of the personalized indicators that are part of our trading system. I used some MTF indicators that I would like to have in profit, but I don't know if it is possible.


I would like to have my MTF indicators on another platform, but I also don't understand the reason for ending up with a safe and practical platform for practically all forex traders.


I raised this topic because I heard whispers about it and wanted to get the opinion of other traders.

Thanks for your response. My PC is not that old but has a 32bit processor on windows 7. I'll have to change to windows 10 to get the 64bit pricessor.
It's a pain in the ass...

If you have a 32 bit cpu then changing your OS to Win 10 does not change your 32 bit cpu. I don't know if they have 32 bit Win 10 but seriously, running a 32 bit cpu in 2023 is like driving a 1950's model car. You need to upgrade your PC to a 64 bit cpu and OS. There are plenty of good 2nd hand machines on EBAY. This machine I am on now has a 6 core 64 bit cpu and 64 GB of RAM. CPU speed is only 3.5 GHz but it is adequate to run MT4 or 5 and at times I have had up to 12 instances of MT4 running simultaneously, testing EA's. This machine I picked up for only about 400 AUD so machines suitable for FX need not be expensive. Upgrade your PC. :-)

Note however that MT4 seems to be getting progressively slower. Noticeable even on my faster machines.

Oh, btw. This machine is running Win 7 Pro (64bit) for testing EA's because there are no updates interrupting the OS. It also dual boots to 10 when I wish but I prefer 7 for testing. I think this was one of the last machines which COULD run 7 - the problem is difficulty installing Win 7 - many later PC's cannot (easily) It is an HP 420Z.

Ctrader is your best option. You dont need to code indicators with buttons. Its all there! More sophisticated and much comparable to Trading view for now. Moreso if you your broker offers Ctrader platform.

Somebody will make a software which can push MT5 live data feed to offline MT4 charts so that peole continue enjoying their lagacy MT4 indicators and EAs.

then we started counting months and years when it was build 509 ... and now it is build 1400...

How far we've come...

I distinctly remember the infamous MT4 builds 600 and above in 2014, when a lot of EAs and indicators stopped working after a major MQL4 language update.

Am i the only one with this issue on Google play store? Cant download mt4 app.
