People come and go . Many are just not posting and who knows what they are doing. TD365 might be a good choice as a broker. I think they are based in UK

Research online gives a rather shady picture: Registered on Bahamas, with doubts regarding EU regulations. People claim the UK registration is not real. They also talk about price manipulation and frozen platforms (which could of course be the single trader's fault). Complaints were dealt with "sorry, we are on the Bahamas", according to reviews.
IB still seems good, though the minimum position size are 2000 units. That seems to be too much at the moment, having two positions with maybe 300 pips sl on the daily chart. Looks like this search could take some days / weeks, I am not in a rush to give my money away.

I agree with you completely on this. Money is not easy to find out there.
The choice of a broker is similar to choosing a bank account.
Just take your time, you will get one soon.

Not much done today. Only these two trades short the DOW and that for a few pips. One of those days when I cant seem to get my head straight. Overall it was a great day for PASR on the DOW

You are right Emeka, it is a very important choice and the broker industry changes quicker than the traffic lights (Strat would call it a bit differently, though not too far from red lights and stuff I think). Since Strat mentioned trading view, I found that they are available with more than a dozen of brokers now. As others have shown, it is also possible to put up the Strat Shadow there. It seems they have good risk calculation tools as well to help with order execution. Another option is ctrader, but somehow I never got the right feeling on it as it seems a bit slow to handle for me.

If you are to ask me, I will for the above reasons go with Trading View.
I actually do use them although you have to pay to access/activate more functional abilities/features.
Focus on the learning path and we shall eventually make it to the top.

As far as I understand from online research, Trading View is "free" on partner Brokers. For instance, the commission fee on pepperstone is 3 USD on opening and closing per lot. So you might not necessarily pay extra subscriptions for TV.

Buy your front-end, pay for data, and pay commissions in order to have pass-through spreads. Any other way is just messing around until you decide to trade or not to trade. Same with brokerage - if the IB minimum is too much, you're just looking to do a tester account - so just do a demo with a real broker until you're ready - using the same amount of capital you intend to trade live (as Strat has suggested many times).

Hello Strat,

thanks that people like me can talk to you. I trade for 20 years now so I have some experience. My question I have is regarding the Price Action on Nasdaq vs. Forex. What I can see on your charts the candles and movements are quite clear so your PASR works fine here. What I can see on lots of Forex Pairs (like USDCHF or GBPUSD) it fluctuates currently but it is really difficult to see a trend at all with all the problems of support / resistance etc. Are you staying away of pairs/stocks/indices like that?

I just wanted to know if you still trading Forex or if Nasdaq is better for you (it is also shorter opened and traders know when moves can start within that timeframe of NY Open-Forex is a bit more difficult here).

I always wonder how people can earn money with these trend trading technics on Forex or other instruments but I realized that for example crude oil or even USD/MXN moves differently than lots of forex pairs and can have strong trends so these technics can be better applied.

I always break even on USD/MXN because of the strong trends - here I lose all my gains before. On other pairs I don't have that problem, really interesting.

Personally I concentrated for 15 years now on exhausting trends or overbought/oversold areas to earn little pips when the big guys sell off some of their initial positions. It works quite well but it is very contrary to your trading style. I'm really looking forward for an answer to my question because it would help me a lot to understand different trading approaches, especially classical approaches like yours.

I did overtrade today and fucked it up abit. Fortunately these 2 trades made up for it and wiped out the losses.

I concur with Barbaresco. If you intend being serious in trading this time, then select a "real", CFTC approved broker and pay for real time live data. When I changed brokers and paid for data, I was surprised to find that MT5, which I previously used, was not only inaccurate, but was not real time, trailing behind "real, current time" some 60 seconds and sometimes more!

As in walks of life - you get what you pay for.

That shows that PASR is still powerful enough to put you in the driving seat despite a major disadvantage. However, especially on short timeframes 60 seconds is an absolute no go and is even worse what I thought to be true anyway, so good you made the change. I think with CFTC approved and real time live data you and Barbaresco adress the futures/indices market?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think while trading FX on the worker the mentioned lags in live data should not be such an issue. I had a look at the combination of Pepperstone with Trading View Charting which seems reasonable for that. Will start on the worker as you have suggested, then proceed in given time (H1, M5, Indices/CFTC approved broker). First I have to finish some more hundreds of pages after my day job and keep the trouble and strife in a good mood (which is very important for being even able to trade with focus).

True what you said about paying the price for quality ...
