Strategic decision for TF or just lazy this morning?!? She's slower this week, imagine NVDA and JHole driving the consolidation.

Strategic - I have watched M10, M15 and M20 show A+ set ups many times and promised myself if I saw it again, I would trade it.

Limited time for trading today. I was short before NY open which spiked higher from the lows of today and took me out for a minor loss and then I entered long at the retracement to the shadow and 200EMA on m1. Took partials along the way and then final exit because I have to go do some shopping, otherwise I would have held the rest of the position a while longer. Overall a good day and good execution of my method.
One small partial at the lows and then BOOM.


PS: why did I have to peek to see what happened next LOL
typical timing when I need to close my charts. it is like the market is waiting for me to exit to take off lol

Just took a quick shufty at my charts to see what's going on and am angry that I didn't check M60 today as part of my pre-trading chart set up routine as I normally do. August is almost gone, time seems to go so fast. Have been having some breaks with grandchildren, now time to gather some apples and get some points from the indices. Hope you have had a good summer so far.

Market takes its most important task very seriously, this task is to survive. Needless to point it out, market is very efficient in fulfilling this task, while luring a hopeful trader with the self asserted and too often delusional vision of great profit/s.
To survive is also the most important task of a trader, trader has to survive before he/ her becomes profitable. Therefore the risk factor is to be considered well before the desirable profits are at the center of trader's attention.
Never add to the looser, do your best to add to the winners, that is what makes trader profitable to a greater degree.
adding to a losing trade is like going to the dentist for a simple check up, and coming out with a broken nose, it makes sense to get our well before the eye is gouged out. Adding to a winner, is like building property portfolio, once the first one is making sense, why not to add another one and sensibly manage both?
In a ranging market on any TF, adding to the winners, especially aggressive adding can be problematic, care needs to be exercised.
Is the market ranging or trending on any given TF, an important question to be answered.

Every TF tells its story, everyone gives priority to some TFs over the other TFs.
TFs that I pay more attention for intra day trading are M4, M30, M5, especially I observe the play between M30 and M5. I have possibility like all of us to display other TFs too, but do not use them that much, except of M1.
In the background for some time I have been using P&F charts, the benefit of P&F charts is simplicity, especially when things have not worked out as they might have. P&F charts complement well bar charts, they both have their different advantages, a fast glance is all one needs at times, especially after good preparation before the active trading.
For indices trading gaps and well marked active sessions are of great use to me as well as pivots, and at times fibs, especially when I can clearly see the impulsive early in the session, then after measured retracement, I aim at measured extension/s.

I have resumed trading DAX from the XETRA open, and also trade NASDAQ, as well as DOW.
I also look at seasonal charts, like one below, and pay attention to inter-market performance as the day unfolds.

This NYSE DOW session has been a good example, as the DOW session's H was asymmetrical compared to S&P and NASDAQ. VIX and USD index was in agreement with the eventual DOW's move down, just a ranging market on higher TFs.
