Disliked{quote} how many lots do you use?I am asking just because whenever I tried 4-5 lots I am filled 500 points up/down than the moment I entered the trade and my risk is doubled or tripled and when I put 1 lot its all rightIgnored

Disliked{quote} Something is seriously wrong at your broker - call them to resolve. If not resolved - change brokersIgnored
Disliked{quote} This is a small prop account and I use 50cents per point for the DOW which is 0.5 lots for this broker. Really tiny but I have my head clear and it grows slowly. Maximum I would use 1lot, which probably I will start using once the account grows by 2-3%. At the moment it is barely 1.5% in profit. At 5%+ I will use 2lots to try and get to 8% a bit faster. Having slippage at 5lots(5$ per point) is quite bad. Which broker do you use ?Ignored

Disliked{quote} Their response is not helping. How many $ per point is one lot for eightcap? If it is like 1$/point it is ridiculous to have slippage at 5lots. There might be some slight slippage at 10+ but nothing special. if it is too big then their liquidity provider is garbageIgnored

Disliked{quote} Sorry I didn't realize it was US30 and not YM/MYM. US30 will display a similar price as YM/MYM, but can also use decimal places, whereas the CME products do not. It looks like 1 "lot" with your broker is 10 units of US30, and they are offering you 20:1 leverage. So, with 5 "lots", you are trading 50 US30's, so when Dow moves 100 bucks, you move 5K. That is the same as trading 10 YM's (which would cost a bit less in margin than your 5 US30's, but similar). The question is what you are calling points - .01, 0.1, or 1? I think Strat and I thought...Ignored
DislikedJust found this thread and dove right in. As background, I took James16's course what seems like a lifetime ago, but didn't have the psychological discipline to make use of it. I am now a profitable trader, looking to take the leap to doing this full time. PASR makes sense to me intuitively, but - I have a few questions based on the chart below. {image} We see as clear a double top as I've ever seen. If I were trading this chart naked, I would have entered at the start of the second down candle in the blue box. However, the 20 MA doesn't cross the...Ignored

Disliked{quote} Absolutely - during NY session, you should be good with 50-100 YM's early ($250-500/pt), and half that later on, although shoving it into top of book as a single market order isn't efficient and makes HFT's very happy. But 10 YM's is no issue almost any time of day.Ignored
