This is probably one of the most useful advices online in creating a working strategy. I know so because i've been backtesting for 3 years now. It's the truth. This is gold to people who know the pain and know what they are doing. Find that consistant winning strategy!

I think it just boils down to risk management and trading strategy. Plenty of youtube videos explaining these.

Honestly I quit two times before but always end up coming back... The key is controlling your risk and keep learning, you eventually get there. I'm getting better results this time around.

Despite the desirability of those exotic sports cars (so often promised in this industry), I deliberately trade low risk with low returns. It's a fun part time activity that engages and tests my emotional control and planning skills. But, ultimately, it can be a harsh teacher, and I don't have the wherewithal to be a FX high flyer Not playing the game can be a really sensible decision.

I feel quite disappointed at myself...

I have been using my EA's for quite some time. I'm successful with them..

However, as I do not stare at the screen I feel I'm not fully engaged as I really wanted...

I wish I could have some direction on where to go with my manual trading as I all over the place.

It's very frustrating knowing that could be more profitable and understand more but I cant really fit a strategy in my mind.

Just venting out with you guys..

Cheer up man, you're already profitable! You don't need to catch the most moves every week/month. If you're making money you are way way ahead of most people in this trading world. Life should be lived, and it's hard when you probably had to work super hard to get here but now is your turn to live a little

Greeting fellow traders,
I recently opened my first Forex account ($1k funded) and been trading for about 1 week. So far, I was only able to make around net $10 profit HAHA. Here is my questions to you guys. Is Forex different from equity and stocks? (FYI, I am totally new to Forex but successfully trading and investing in stock market).

1. How do you go about trading?
- Do you guys strictly go by looking at the charts and indicators? or look at global markets and future geopolitical shifts? I feel like if you go by the charts you are forced to enter & exit positions and hold nothing...while if you go by global market and geopolitical speculation play you go on long term holding.

2. How long do you hold & close your position?
- What is considered as long position in Forex? Like, what is the avg duration to be considered long holding? (No dividend?!)
- Is long term speculation & hedge holding viable in Forex?

3. How to maximize profit ?
- I know...its sad...only $10 in total profit. So, do you guys trade in large position or small position but in higher frequency ?

Also, any other tips and advice is much appreciated.

Trading forex and stocks are not much different except in stocks you can cost average and end up winning in 3 to 5 years, but in forex, to do that, you have to use the smallest lots.

So, figure out a system that works for you, then stick with it.

Get a job you like or study for one you like. Stop dreaming about being a profitable trader. McDonalds and the like are always hiring and pay out every week
