Hello David-T

As of last Friday I've been trading cable with Bago's method (on 10 min TF) for 16 weeks and to date my weekly average is slightly over 200 pips per week.

I have recently started trading EJ & UJ as well and EJ is showing similar potential to GU. UJ is also very profitable but it always seems like very hard work.

I use the charts from one of the SB brokers I use and the charts are supplied by it-finance. These charts may not have all the bells and whistles that you get with MT4 etc but they give me the indicaters for Bago's method and I like simple uncluttered bar charts anyway so they work fine for me.

I work my trades in 3 parts (lots) like bago suggests with SL normally at 30 + spread (2 or 3 for above pairs). For SL however if there is a recross of the 5/12 I will normally exit rather than take a full hit on the full SL. TP will vary depending on the pace of the market, if it moves quickly TP 1 will be 30 (SL is set to BE); TP2 50-60 (SL is set to +20/30); TP3 runs until recross of 5/12 or if I see 100 I'll normally take it. I don't leave anything open overnight. If the market is slower TP1 will be 20; TP2 30/40; TP3 as before.

As a matter of interest this morning after the 9.30 MPC news the 9.50-10.00 bar gave a signal on cable. There were no obvious shocks from the 10.00 news so entered a long trade. Since then i've closed TP1 for 20; TP2 for 40; and cable has broken through 1.98 so Tp3 could do very well. SL for TP3 is set at +20 so minimum P/L for 3 lots will be 80 pips ie 26 pips profit for the trade.

The 10 min gets you in early but obviously it can also get you out early and not always with profit but overall I'm enjoying a high ratio of wins/losses so I don't lose any sleep over the losses.

By using discretion and common sense and being aware of certain market forces/obstacles in the form of strong SR and the psychological numbers (eg 1.98 and cable is now at 1.9820 so my tp3 is looking very good now) you can avoid a lot of false signals and keep the winning ratio up.

Hope this helps David, I do believe that you could use Bago's method in most TF's and be profitable. All the best.

strada.

Edit at 12.50 (UK time) TP3 on the above trade has now been closed for 100 pips so trade total of 160 over three lots ie P/L + 53 for the trade. And EJ & UJ are doing well too. Check out Bago, it works!!!

200+ pips per week is about what I'm experiencing too.. by using the RSI/MA (8) instead of the RSI 21 and using an 8 SMA instead of the 12 EMA, I have found that I get, on average about 5 more pips per trade.

If there is a better system than Bago's, I've yet to see it.

Strada,
Your last couple of posts say it all!
Thanks for sharing your Bago trades and we look forward to
more as your time permits.

A question: Do you just trade certain times of day for certain pairs?
I'm interested in shorter TF's too but, most times of day seem
counterproductive.

On the same topic: Does anyone know what indicator is used on
the FF home page (upper left corner) to generate the FOREX MARKET LIQUIDITY status for the different sessions?

Thanks Again, Strada and All,

FXS

Wonderful Marco!

Also curious about what pairs and times of day (and TF's) that you trade.

Thanks!

FXSurfer,

Thanks for your comments and agree totally with your sentiments re Bago.

As to trading times I normally have everything set up by 6am (UK time) and I normally trade until around 4pm.

There are normally signals between 6 and 8.30'ish that I'll trade and if there is news at 9.30 I normally won't enter any new cable trades after around 8.30. Obviously any 9.30 news often generates new signals like this morning. For euro pairs their news is spread across the morning so likewise.

The next busy time is after midday and especially after 1.30 if there's US news and occasionally after 2.30 when Dow opens. These times would tend to be where the predominance of trades happen although there are trades in between sometimes.

all the best, strada.

I am using same setup as MarcoW (the 12 ema is on my charts though), however I add stochs at 8,5,3 for added confirmaton. I use 5 min at news time then follow trade on 15 after first 5 has closed and use 30 when market is quiet or there is no news. I do keep an eye on pivots and fib levels as well.

Hello rorieu - this Period Convertor will let you have 10min charts on mt4. I copy instructions I have below:

For 10min chart:
* download to custom indicator folder
* open the 5min chart on mt4
* In custom folder click/drag on Period Convertor onto 5min chart
* Click on the Inputs tab
* check that the Period Multiplier box has the number 2 there
* on the Period Converter common tab tick the box to allow DLL imports
* click ok
* go to File on mt4
* click on 'Open Offline'
* look down the list of available charts and double click on the 10min chart

In order for the 10minute chart to work live you must always have the 5 minute chart running as this is the time frame it is linked to.

As above to make any chart time frame i.e for a 45min chart you would open a 15min and set period multiplier to 3.

I hope that helps you

For anyone interested in Strada's 10min time frame method of trading Bagovino, this is how you convert your MT4 platform to a 10 min chart.

The Period Converter indicator can be found here on this thread on Driftwoods post 1800, page 120.

FXSurfer and Strada..

I use the 30 min TF to catch the overall direction and 15min TF for actual entry.

I trade the EUR/USD and GBP/USD and have gone to trading recently from 4:30 EST to 11:00 EST.

Marco,

Look at post 1800, page 120 on this thread, you will find the Period Converter indicator on this post by Driftwood.

I am not sure how to attach an indicator here.

Noel.
