I agree, limited pairs...smaller lots and build good margins...

Trending market combined with hoilday trading. gave me the first losses to the tune of 40% of my account.
No pair was safe they all took losses....
So after nearly 8 weeks of 100% profit I took losses..I belive thats still very good, now I know the downside of FB I will start working on reducing it.
Iam allso running 63h04 and version1 (hedging)...I belive the answer is in the middle.
my thinking is some pairs on version 1 and the others on 63h04 or 63G.....thats the way iam going to test.
I have tested version 2 and my finding are not good so I will concentrate on the above...
in the mean time my live account will still run 63G.....

Hey all....
Been hit here hard as well. Went from -$35 float last night to -$165 as of now.
Which is about -58% of my Balance . Very un-fn'-comfortable!!!! but it seems to have leveled off for now. IBFX is closed tomorrow 08:00-20:00 EST which will leave me at the mercy of the market for 12 hours. I was thinking about adding an opposite trade to my big losers to hedge them untill friday, or untill they start to move my way. I currently have about .4 lots short GBDUSD, 125 pips the wrong way. I was thinking about buying .35 or .4 lots. So that if it moved either way the float wouldn't change much, and as my original trades became less lossy, I would get rid of the hedge trades, which would have a net change of almost $0. I haven't done this before, So i am not sure it will work. I could also watch untill 2 or 3 am EST and wait to see what happens as Markets open . I was looking forward to sleeping in Thanksgiving, oh well... Does anyone have insight as to wether this will reverse??

Your right. but I never thought of FB as the Holy Grail. It was only a matter of time before it made some losses.
I look at it this way. I was making 40% a week - The market took some back last night.
But it still leaves me with a good profit on my starting balance, where else do you get a return of 100%plus in 8 weeks and thats after that loss.
For me FB is great, I will keep the live account going on the same settings, and I will look into reducing any losses in the furture , maybe by running some wide ranging pairs on the hedging FB or FBh04 with the safe mode...
Thats my project for the next month....
But Iam not walking away or throwing it in the bin....I still belive It can work, but we all need to realise its life and nothing is perfect including ourselves....

Its always the million dollar question do you close and watch the trade go into profit or leave it and watch the trade go to the Stoploss taking your profits with it????
I have been in this game 6 years and I perfer to exit with a small to medium loss as a large loss.
theres always next week.

BTW: If we did go much higher it would be a point we have not hit since 04 on the GBPUSD
