you don't need crystal ball to read the market correctly all the time.
do you think long-term/swing traders gamble ? they are conservative traders and make 100% correct decisions every time.

I have the same plan; 5% is my maximum monthly target but I believe anything is possible here! On the other hand, I am more conscious on money management plan rather than money making!

I am in a "social" trading platform where the broker makes a kind of ETF with your strategy where anyone can invest. You manage the entry-exit and they manage the risk of the position.

Well, the best trader of all:

- He has the last 7 years in positive with returns between 10 and 70%. Maximum drawdowm of 14%.
- He has quite a few months in negative, about 2-5 per year. 66% of weeks in positive and 50% of positive days.
- He currently manages 12 million in his fund, this year he will earn more than 500k $ in success fees.

And you guys say you make 1-3% daily which is light years ahead of this trader. Well, it is either a lie or you are multimillionaires.
The way I approach trading is, risking around .2% on each trade and taking trades with +5R target.

This means I can make 1% on a single trade. And if I take more than one trade on most days, I can make more than 1% per day even with some losses mixed in.

But the trick is this: you can’t expect every single day to be profitable, but if you control risk, and cut losing days short, certainly averaging 1% or more per day is doable.

And about the whole concept of growing a small account into millions is far fetched because of how the mindset changes as the account grows. Eventually your mind will not allow you to exceed a certain equity level (could be rare exceptions).

The better way to do it is use a prop firm and first become successful on the small counts, then qualify for the bigger accounts, applying the same risk parameters percentage-wise. Just my opinion and what has worked for me…

Edit: I also am not trading to “grow an account” rather I am trading to make withdrawals as an income. And will use some of the withdrawal money to try out for bigger accounts, which will then eventually be combined with my current live accounts. My target account size is 600k

I spoke a lot about this in the last 2 threads I started. Speaking for myself, I had to learn to manage risk on small accounts first as a professional trader.

But now I am testing the waters with larger accounts, and will start trading a 100k account this week or next. One needs to learn how to manage big accounts before they can make significant income…
1% or 2% possible at any day but planning for each day any specific number is a bad idea! I believe we can make a good amount of money by 3-4 good trades in a month! We don’t need hundreds of trades!
Much is possible with a high hit rate (A+ set-ups) and low draw down.
Life is too short to have anything but delusional notions about yourself.

I am just doing some simple thinking here. To make 40%, you need more than 2% profit days each trading day of the month. That seems a bit high risk.
You may want to reduce risk by trading less but to reach the goal of 40%, you need to trade larger which in return raises the risk again.

I for my part do not see how it is possible to make 40% a month or more.

I am here to learn. If you guys know of something else, please enlighten me.

If a somebody was rather sure to make 40% a month, a somebody like that would double the leverage and make 80% a month.
And if a somebody was rather sure to make 80% a month a somebody would double that leverage and make 160%.
Thinking in advance how much you are going to make, to my experience, is a big problem.
I do as good as i can.
But some days if i make a good buck in 2-3 hours is stop it at that.
But i trade 5-20 positions a day, its very taxing staring at M1 all day so i try to manage my mental and physical resources.

Indicators CAN help if you know how to use them. They may lag, but a sprinter cannot stop on a dime - unless a brick wall materializes in front of them instantaneously. The sprinter will carry momentum which needs a certain amount of time to stop. Any market reacts similarly. The trick is to sense that momentum and just part of it would suffice. Trend is your friend, etc. IMHO today's market trends less than in the past, perhaps because of black boxes and such, but there are still opportunities. I for one am still in the learning process after all these years. Don't fall for the line "the market is totally random". It can be tricky, but in my experience it is not random, YET.

If you want to win money without many risk, it's not very difficult: use a Latency Arbitrage software, buy a broker company and trade on your own broker.

All brokers have plugins to detect this strategy of trading and when they detect it, they modify the condition of your trading account (by adding slippage for example) and you loose, loose and loose money. If you trade on your own broker company, you don't have this problem and you win, win and win money.

With this trading strategy you can get very large monthly gains, like the ones I made on one of my real accounts:

The only difficulty of this winning strategy is to buy a broker (with a valid trading license), the price varies from €500,000 to €1,000,000. I don't have that money but if some of you are willing to risk a few hundred or thousand euros then we can buy a broker together, trade with my software and then split the trading gains.

The answer is yes, you can. I do it every day and with one instrument, EU. Here are my recent trades, including todays trade. The trick is to not be greedy, be consistent, use your margin as a tool and not be scared of it.

Just a note, to do this I do not use a stop loss and instead set an emergency hedge order. I do use stop losses for other strategies and for other instruments.

Yes, this is completely possible, but monthly return cannot be the same every month. We can talk about monthly return in average. Also such things depends on account leverage, trading instrument and etc.
