GBPNZD H1 SOLLLLLDDDD Big move up to take A LOT of liquidity. The first move down I wasn't convinced by so waited. The double top here was a classic. The second leg took out the high of the first which took all the stops of the guys who got the direction correct. After a BIG move like that, it looked good for short term reversals. I messed up my entry lot calcs which doesn't happen too often but which is why I have multiple positions. Risk is significantly reduced. The TP was the low but I needed a little more for my R:R of 1.5. {image}

{quote} that's it bro, so simple! I think you can benefit from tidying your entries more. Order blocks, breakers blocks, SnR etc. {image}

yes, it can be simple sometimes and i do tend to make it more difficult than need be with untidy entries - that comes about as a result of not filtering my entries which is how i try and keep it simple and have to deal with the consequences if it runs away, like i thought this one was about to after being in profit...

i do not subscribe to any of the ict concepts, it just adds another layer of complexity that is not required

vvm's new luck offering didn't stretch very far for me yesterday

AUDUSD 1M

long off support looking for trend continuation after a pullback targeting between ema50 and ema200

then cost averaged two more orders at support levels as the pullback ran deeper than expected

the problem i faced with this trade was GREED - it was in a decent profit on two occasions but for very short period of time and both times i decided to wait for target after seeing ema200 approaching it and expecting price to touch it
Attached Image (click to enlarge)

the result was a runaway trade that had to be managed/monitored most of the day and required a bit of overtime to wrap it up! a fourth order was strategically placed to maintain a manageable break even level and no further orders were required as the retrace resumed back to break even
once break even had been reached, it was also at a critical resistance level, i closed immediately after realising the resistance was not going to break - if it had broken, there would of been major profits so i waited right until the end before closing...

which upon reflection today, was timed to perfection!

so i had plenty of time to fix the LL bar bug and compact the timeframes on my indicator... now i may add in some configuration to choose timeframes and number of bars to display and whatever else might be useful...

This was a great trade mate. I really like it. I was looking at shorts but missed my entry. My full focus is on scalping and I was busy with that at the time.

Yeah the clean entries with zones to play off don't happen all the time. But if you wait for them, I'm confident you can increase your win rate! I appreciate win rate isn't paramount for all though. And yeah the ICT concepts are useful but I don't trade ICT. Their concept of liquidity and imbalance is something I use a lot in scalping.

Your config looks amazing mate. I'm confident it will help you immensely. I would highly recommend building a screenshot feature in. MQL5 has a way of doing it in code. That way you can see all candles when you enter and can compare them to the close. For me personally, it helps A LOT.

Have you seen the hedging post by the way? They use cost averaging and hedging to make really good profit. It's something I want to play with in the future but for now my main focus is just scalping.

I like the idea of not predicting. Check it out, if it's of interest to you.

@vvm - this was a valid trade. I tried to enter with a pending and it didn't hit unfortunately but this is what I meant previously.

This EMA strategy is VERY simple.
Strong trend + EMA rejection with wick on H4/D1. EMA14 + EMA200 must be aligned with good structure.

you are correct thehusla - entering at the point of highest probability for profit is the key - for many, that involves waiting for price to reach an area in a certain way, the areas and price action i look for however are very primitive, i prefer to focus my attention on managing risk and dealing with drawdown - the profits are just the result of that development

i scanned the hedging and averaging thread and hey, each to their own! not for me, but i understand the premise behind what they are doing, no one can predict the next tick for every tick but there are only two choices, that's for sure... part of that is why i prefer cost averaging, but will never get involved with hedging, for me it is additional risk that i'd prefer not to manage

i'll look into the auto snapshot feature, looks simple enough, i'm thinking of adding an ema as well, thanks for the feedback...
