Question Concerning Tradestation

For all the traders out there who use Tradestation, I know Tradestation can follow an automated system and place trades automatically like metatrader, but can you put Tradestation on a dedicated server so you don't have to worry about downtime in your internet connection?

Dedicated server as in at home, or over at TS's location? I don't think they have that option for the latter, because several people I talked to on the TS forum sometimes use multiple data sources, such as Interactive Brokers, myTrack, IQdata, etc.

As for automatically trading, they never offered this on FOREX... hell, it took them a long time to get a decent options trading platform on their system.

I'm becoming more and more disillusioned by TS, and am thinking of switching to Multicharts or Sierra Charts with a cheap data provider along with an Interactive Brokers account for my non-FOREX trading. Even though this is a far less "user friendly" option than TS, I don't mind tinkering with things.

I believe MB Trading offers a service to have your box at their premises.

Yep. Isn't that pathetic? When they decided to go into the FOREX market three years ago, they white labeled through RJ O'Brien. Then they suddenly switched white labels to GAIN capital several months after that, which sucked, because their data feeds went from over 60 pairs to barely 20 pairs overnight.

They've been promising an automated platform for FOREX ever since they began offering it three years ago... as I said, it took them almost that long to get a decent stock option trading interface. They're no longer worth the $100/mo. platform fee, as more and more alternatives are becoming available. I'd rather use Multicharts, which is buggy as hell because it's in a Beta phase, and pay half as much per month, or just shell out the $800 for a permanent license.

Tradestation has been saying "soon" on forex for over 2 years now. I'm looking to switch personally, probably over to e-signal or sierra charts.
Therefore what??

Heh heh... sounds like everyone is leaving over the exact same things I left a year ago over...

Tradestation, aka Omega, has had more than a decade to do good portfolio backtesting. After all this time, they STILL haven't done it.

Try Neoticker. You won't be disappointed.
