imagine having a real living job which required you having to spend years out of town.... cheap computers are cheap..... per diem is a lot of money...... and holiday inn express has fast wifi.....

if you bought a new computer each week, chose a different subject each week, and downloaded everything on the net on that subject, in 1 year you could have covered 52 subjects.....

i have a sam seiden computer....

google, bing and such can help us find everything written on a subject..... fast...... thanks to holiday inn wifi and youtube playlists, youtube downloader premium can down thousands of hours of videos a day, without commercials...... in less than a week you will have it all.....

next week, maybe bill williams and chaos......

imagine years of that......

the risk to reward, seldom use that term, is supposed to be best in those areas in the direction of the trend..... which is almost common sense....

quite often those areas will align with the zigzag(12,5,3) or (5,5,3)...... which is again, almost common sense.....

just another way to accomplish the same thing......h

hey ot...... those arrows and lines repaint giving it a better that real image...... as you noticed, a periods of 5 gives a quicker signal..... even though it repaints, the heads up value is worth it like you said......

when the trends on higher tf's are decidedly in agreement and the time left in trend is still high, lowering peyton's settings to 20 or less will give a much faster signal.....

doing so opens the door to a loss...... given her small lot size to account size, the $ amount loss is small....

so it's a judgement call......h

Hi hayseed, I can imagine that...used to recruit programmers/contractors for ATT, Ford, Cincinnati Bell, defense contractors, etc, and got to know them and saw how they lived (no overtime pay for programmers who were contractors making over x ($31?) per hour) before starting my own business and becoming someone who lived out of a hotel room for the first couple of years until I was able to clone myself by training techs in all 50 states. Fun times.

Lol, "i see dead people" - are you referring to "certain" people (like PeterCaleb) not being actual traders? Last week I once again asked T wee why they are on here, but he danced around the answer and said I should block them. I told him I shouldn't have to block anyone, instead FF should actually keep their promise that this forum only be for actual traders and people trying to learn how to trade...that's why I left for a long time and now just pop in to check up on a few people.

I love supply/demand...the key is to not use it as a stand alone indicator so one can see which potential trades are invalid. This allows me to call the tops and bottoms of the market out on the higher time frames and then go down on the lower charts to trade the bias it provides. That's why this "trend following system is dead" thread was fun to refute and why I made fun of the situation...after he said trends are dead. Had to have some fun.

Happy to walk you through my system some time...

IMO, both don't work in the long run if you keep using the same rules. The market is not so rigid as to give us unlimited chances to keep improving our methodologies until we're finally profitable. In reality, we're always chasing it. The challenge is to stay ahead of it which some of us can do only part of the time. It's the other times we become unprofitable no matter how hard we try.

It's not as simple as it looks!

Most of you tend to make the same mistakes. Looking at the charts searching for single events and setups to match your ideas and to confirm the validity of some imaginary strategy. Which in most cases is not even backtested properly. Let alone some more serious examination.

Doesn't matter if it's trend following or breakouts or some other setup or even fundamental news. You are going nowhere! Because the thinking is incorrect from the start.
You are not thinking in terms of probability! And this is really important.

And unless you start to think in terms of probability you will always fall in the same trap where you can't find the difference between random and non random elements inside the price curve.

bfx17 and anyone here ...If a person considers a well researched, well thought out, thorough enough and long enough series of observations made, along with proper review, as well as a personal audit of both my personal idea (and definition version of) common sense compared with 'the market's' common sense and then with a thick overlay of Life's common sense ....... as "rubbish" "bullshit" etc etc ..... I'll take that bet thanks .... against online persona who are merely part of a dinky little trading website that has more in common with "fantasy football" than the real world.

It's simple to understand a bottom line like this. I'm sure even you can wrap your brain around it all.

1 - your personal version of what common sense "is"
2 - a market or instrument etc and its version of "common sense"
3 - Life in general and semi-specific scope of common sense.

If you need a dictionary I hear Google or Bing are offering a great deal right now.

I think that covers almost everything. That is the basic of basics version of everything that is spoken about on the thread I started. Nothing more or less. Nappy shitters have no place in real life which is probably why so many persona hide in here and 'hang out'.

So as I've said many times ...... either you learn, or you offer someone else the opportunity to learn. Your choice. Hihihihihi.

The argument of trend trading is just like you see in that video I shared here of the guys playing that game..... IF you can think and observe. For everyone else, try looking at it in ways you're uncomfortable with. Then you may actually learn something. All you have to do is stop bothering with moron personas on here.

I agree that counter trend systems work very well, actually they are brilliant.

However I am not talking about price, I am talking about the mass of traders. One should always be on the other side of the mass of traders.

Actually I can go one step further by suggesting we find the 5 worst traders on Forex factory and ask them collectively to pick which direction GBPUSD is moving this week. We will of course trade against their decision and I would suggest that we would win in 80% of occasions.

Now can we all vote on the 5 worst traders on Forex Factory, who would you guys pick to be in this.
