I use the EMA99 as a guide although the PSAR with these settings takes away some of the need for confirmation, but you will notice that PA is activated by a cross of the SMA/EMA level... I try not to "cherry pick" screenshots but the last few hours of the NASDAQ before the holiday close was flat... (Untradeable!)
The Strategy displays intraday trends coupled with reasonably good trade entry points. You have to close out positions when price action shows that momentum is exhausted. On the 5min, I follow price up or down with a manually adjusted breakeven once price has moved into profit.
I don't use stops per say... But I will add say a SMA21-36 to act as a price over/under exit point.

Found this thread today and really appreciate Jul3S for starting it and being so open with his strategy.
The thread seems to have gone quiet so I thought I'd add my thoughts and try and get it resurrected!
I've been trading the US30 on a demo account for over a year. It is a beast but I'm determined to beat it!
Forgetting the mad moves it makes when there is news - it can make big moves whenever it wants. You literally
do not know where it will go next! BUT the good thing is it does make some really big moves and I really think this kind
of strategy is great for this.
I'm looking at using a lower EMA - 50 and seeing how this pans out. I'm going to try and stay in for much longer as
opposed to scalping. Once a good move begins from my experience the Dow respects several moving averages (I use ALMA
more recently)
I use ZigZag and fractals and support/resistance zones I don't think you should take trades if any of these are close by as the Dow does often respect these.
One tip - if the Dow suddenly drops like 20-30 points in a minute it's often a great trade to take ie if it drops take a long as soon as it bounces - it normally recovers all the way and often more
Just my thoughts and I will continue to post if there is any interest.
