Sorry, man...I was rooting for you on this. 5 people is still a good start...at least you can play around with the competition interface and perfect your handling techniques.
Like I said before, without a verifiable prize awarded to the winner (either in the form of a check to charity, or as a prize), it would be hard for anyone to justify the time-expense. If you make it worth while, more people will join.
Don't get discouraged...just complete your competition, make your analysis on the situation and then determine if you can do it for real with some real sponsors, etc.
