I have kind of a unique circumstance, and I wouldn't recommend it unless your quick on your feet and at your computer ready to pull the trigger. That is because I only trade the NY session, especially the two hours when both London and NY are trading together. Often counter trend trades offer themselves and NY is well known to fade what has happened overnight in London. Same as today, that NY news spike was ripe for fading and I expect it will pull back to the 4 hour zone shown on the chart posted. Now first glance one has to be very careful trading...

{quote} I have used 9:00,gmt for many, many years, some use 8:00 to take in Frankfurt, but I have found that timeslot very ineffective. actually this is GMT+1 Central Standard Time on my charts....if you look at the chart below you can see the moves either direction really start to move at this time period, so it stands to reason this is when the markets really start to take effect. Now the crossover between London and New York I start the NY session at 16;00 because my indicator does not have half numbers, so often you will see a slotted line at...

Try a slightly bigger grid for this pair unless you are trading 1 min moves. Scalping.

By using the trend line tool with the ray function disabled it shows 3 toggle points, combined with a 10 pip grid you will find a much better point to see where the expansion would take place.

I didnt think the feds could back off with inflation where it's at. And the charts really told a story, every time there is an important news event gbp trades against what is expected.....then the little pop up to the resistance (blue), a few stops hunted, it was a dead give away. Best profit taken at the daily London open...to the penny. Now hoping for a retrace to build a few shorts as this rate hike will change the landscape again is assume...

Now, fp markets did open the spread a bit and I could have done better, but hey, I can now put gas in the
Expedition. (cant afford to drive it, but it will have a full tank of fuel...lol

+45 +35 +22 +37

[email protected] is a good example of having the correct open time for London....happens all the time when there is movement, often providing very nice scalps if nothing else...

You are not alone my friend....but what happens when the whole retail culture insists on a long bias, it is very hard to come to terms with flawed reasoning.
If you go to the most popular thread in FF you will find it normally has 100 to 165 members on line, if you go to it right now there are only 2. Why do you think that is? Some of these members are real gamblers and we all know what happens to gamblers when the tide changes, losses, and for some huge losses.

We all get skunked sometimes, I thought I was in the perfect spot to make a move long, instead of always short just trading the occilations. Well I was wrong and the losses were -9 -19 -24 -29 really the only losses in the past few days of trading.

Probably had I been able to hang on overnight, all could have been resolved, or not, so I decided to close early instead on hanging on to my losses just to prove I was right all along...
