Listened to the conference in real time. The moment Jay said that we're long way from ending the rise and the terminal rate is likely to be higher than anticipated was the moment the market sold off hard and never came back. So, this is all we need to know. We're long way from the end. He should've stopped short of saying the thing about the long way. That way he would've had more room for action and the market would've been higher and more resilient to his actions. But he sees far beyond us so there might be some reasons we can't understand.

Once Central Bankers were 1st friends of the financial markets, but these days they are all happy when they see markets going down, as this is also a way to reduce inflation too, imho.

Erratic spike up after Bank of England decision, very erratic...anyway good for my longs and that was not 1st time we saw in the past these spikes after Bank of England decisions.
