Good luck to them both Ano, I think they would be deserving winners anyway. The real key is how well the accounts perform when the market is not trending. That is when you can get a feel for how well the system operates and also how well user intervention plays a part.

I saw a post where someone raised the TPSL to 90% which when coupled with the profit factor at 1.7 means a loss setting of 90% and a profit setting of around 150% so if they couple that with the close opposite signal set to false then there will most likely be some sad faces in the future....

I think this is a very useful tool and the community should be very thankful on being given an opportunity to test and learn from using it. I never started out to win any competition to be honest, I am more interested in having another tool that I can use in my battles with the FX market.

DD is almost like time, can't be rewinded

Once your DD has gone up significantly, it's almost impossible to lower it

Even though we can start a new period tomorrow with a new DD

But for how long ?

We will not go to class if we always start a new period tomorrow

While the meaning of consistent profit is sustainable

most of us focus more on the results of the money, not focus on the process of maintaining the value of DD

Whoever can keep the DD value is always low, he goes up and down but not significantly, he will enjoy the results at the end of each period


If not there will most likely be some sad faces in the future.... as maahome say

Yes, but the detailed statement from your Metatrader terminal does NOT consider the "floating" drawdown of your open trades like statistic pages(myfxbook/fxblue/etc...) do.

In this statement file you'll only see the "realized" drawdown based on the final result of these trades.

Example: Your trade is going down 50% and closes with a 3% loss.
- The monitoring/statistic page(myfxbook/fxblue/etc...) will show you the real maximum drawdown of 50%
- The Detailed Statement(reports) of your Terminal will show a maximum drawdown of 3%.

if you really really want to track accurately your DD, profit, etc.... then try this indicator "PairProfitAnalyzerUpdate.ex4"

Incidentally all I know is a detailed statement only

I train myself to minimize potential losses, and I recently learned the term Drawdown

and for me the detailed statement is enough for reference the way

I practice minimizing losses is to limit losses, if more than 5% I have to give up and stop immediately, but it's difficult to implement,

then I make an auto stop loss

Another thing I practice is minimizing draw down, and one way I found is supertrap with manual intervention

The exercise I'm doing now is no longer experiencing floating loss that exceeds autostop loss

my initial target is a maximum DD for a period of 1 week 3%, a period of 1 month 10%,

if it passes then I will stop and wait for the next period

This is one of the best tool i ever see in the FF thank you so much for making the trading decisions easier Ano, i have been testing on demo and it works well from last 2 days (GBPUSD) i wanted to use it try and experience the difference with other currencies too- i would say " not to use in trending market" due to DD,
