Economically the EU is 10X times larger than Russia / 3.5x times percapita income.. /
Global military Rank - 2 / Defense Budget 2x that of Russia. / Total Men Under Arms 2x that of Russia.
Add that into the US Nato capabilities..

With respect - one qualifier.. I suggest you are being unfair on the positions of both India and Russia.
Both have made their opposition to Putins Ukraine War unambiguously. The western press have a knack of polarising diplomatic things.. with nice easyto understand "youre for me or against me" stories.

Both Modi and Xi have stated that since it doesnt DIRECTLY impact their interests they are remaining uncommitted to the alliance of largely Western powers who are actively opposing Putin supplying arms and other assistance to Ukraine. There is no evidence that they are giving any significant DIRECT strategic aid to Putin war effort.
In a way this cartoon illustrates the lack of substance in real Sino-Russian relationship.. beyond the Blah Blah.

Just saw the Putin speak from this morning. What a load of crap he is saying. Nobody is threatening Russia with nuclear waepons. Russia is the largest and only threat to themselves. Truth is that they are sitting on an enormous fortune and they could all be much wealthier than what they currently are. If the average Joe only knew how the common wealth is used they would be chocked.

Not much EU can do as Russia partial mobilization is aimed at securing the soon to be annexed parts of occupied Ukraine.

EU can institute conditions which prevailed during Cold War years. Preferable to a Hot War with Russia.

Ukraine neutrality would have likely prevented all of this. There is no basis of a diplomatic solution at this time.
All that is left is for demilitarized lines of demarcation between what was former Ukraine and is now a partitioned Ukraine.

West is in need of a drastic reassessment of energy resourcing.

Sorry I did not respond sooner. Lavrov is absent and Shogu is present along with the highest levels of Russian military advisors.
Partial mobilization can only be invoked as a Military option. There is no more outreaches of diplomacy which Lavrov would be in charge of.

President potato head apparently got the message via his handlers and duly mouthed what they told him to say.

This situation continues to deteriorate and Russia is pushing back against eastward NATO expansion.
Russia is an Imperial power and views itself as a separate entity. It has the arsenal to back that position up.

I would also point out recent counteroffensive by Ukraine not have been possible without NATO direct munitions aid. Russia losing troops to NATO weaponry not going to sit well in Kremlin. Russian Military has much say over how Troops get into conflict. Russia has held back its' power but the partial mobilization can only be viewed as upping force levels to counter NATO.
