Trade 2 Stopped.

Just trading in the wrong direction here in UK session.

A little frustrated I missed the huge move yesterday during the news.

draw your support n resistance levels on d1 and h4.
ask at which levels would i trade if i would trade twice a day.
trade the set up at these levels in order to be selective.
patience and discipline are hallmarks of a good traders. also my areas of weakness.

new york 7am when forex can start moving.
there's a h4 resistance level.
after a big drop yesterday,
they bring the price up during london so as to drop it during new york.
they have to sell at a high price in order to break asian low.

Appreciate the input as always.

For me personally, I gave up trying to draw support and resistance levels basically on any timeframe based on my inability to cope with the utter subjectiveness of them.
We all have different backgrounds and mental efficiencies and deficiencies.
Mine is the ability to superficially overthink just about everything. This skill does not lend itself well to hand drawn lines, but I just love pivot lines that are mathematically calculated based on yesterday's price action. Same goes for the 25 ema.

I have no trouble taking my losses, otherwise I wouldn't post them here..
But I always strive to become a better trader, even just a little bit each day.

I too overthought S/R for a long time until I settled primarily on just prior daily highs and daily lows. Are there other levels of note? Without a doubt there are many others at which price action takes on a more meaningful aspect than at random levels in the middle of "no man's land."

I watch those levels, and when price gets there. I wait for a reversal signal, or a breakout/pullback/continuation signal.

S/R combined with price action signals based on your preferred bar time tinterval, e.g. M5, H1, etc., can create consistency when tied to reasonable and consistent money management.

Just limiting myself to previous daily highs and lows has really helped me, especially my swing trading of the NQ/QQQ and the ES/SPX/SPY.

don't forget directional bias from daily and weekly swing.
you will see my entries one directional accordingly unless i state counter trend.
almost all short trades.

Hi vidvad.

Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts here and you are welcome to share more if you have them.

When I refer to S/R levels, I mean prices on the chart where there have been multiple "touches". This has always been difficult for me to deal with hence i've gravitated to daily pivots and the percentage 40,50,60 retracement levels.

It's funny, I've always thought of PDH / PDL levels as different from S/R and I absolutely agree they are important levels in the market.
My fear is that my chart just gets too congested with lines etc all because my mind is trying to see everything where I end up seeing nothing and start missing really nice trades.
It's why I've found "peace" in Bob Volman's method because of how clear one can keep their charts.

Anyways, I've rambled on a bit here but it helps me to keep clearing stuff out of my mind so I appreciate the comments from all traders.

Exactly!!

IntheBox is right on the money on that post and makes it look so damn easy even if he is on the M1 or M5 chart!!

It's frustrating and inspiring at the same time.

If I'm looking at prior weekly / daily highs & lows I want to end up drawing them ALL in.
It gets very complicated very quickly.

You can post anything you want. There are no rules.
I think many who are serious about their trading and understand that it is imperative that you try to get a little better every day will appreciate what is being shared here.
I'd rather spend my time trading and learning than policing or arguing
