I've read somewhere that the drop in USD is because of rumors of a Major US Hedge fund collapsing. Don't know if this is true.

I got only 5 pips from cable, but could book a 6 pip profit on long EUR/USD which was running at -60 pips sice yesterday's CPI.

The one thing I can't understand is, this housing market turns down and "everyone" starts saying, the Economy is turning down!!

Factory orders are going thru the roof; tonnage shipped in the country for the past 2 or 3 months have been at it's hightest levels; we've again hit two record highs on the stock market; all this and one industry starts going south and "we're having a bad economy"!! I really don't understand this!!

I guess it's because I'm still so new to this Forex that, I don't understand how the forex market looks at "economic news". What's good for someone obviously isn't good for all. Interesting.............

You are correct is saying those factors you listed are doing well. however you missed some major other ones which are why the economy is going downhill. These can basically be summed up in two parts.

Firstly the US Trade defecit. This is horrendously bad and shows little likelyhood of improving with the Chinese not appreciating the Yuan.

Secondly the Federal Budget defecit. Yes it is smaller than before but in aboslute terms its massive.
These reasons are why everyone is so bearish on the US economy
