Before anything else you need to better define what you mean in the first place, ie how is it supposed to work. The way a renko block is made is when current prices exceeds a block height away from the last block. If the block height is not fixed, and based on atr, then several blocks n candles will have to be recalculated and redrawn.

Consider the pic, even for historical blocks, everything is fine when the block is fixed size, but if the blocks are based on an atr(say period 1) value, then the blocks would be redrawn+resized to include or exclude any candle. The atr values in the pic have levels in multiples of 10pips, so you have 1x and *2x block heights, and the renko blocks are 20pip, Its constantly switching block height. Guessing what it may look like, redrawing them would probably make everything look erratic.

I'd rekon to get an idea of what some sort of atr based block thing would look like, load a supertrend indicator, or a step ma, both vary with atr.

Good morning Jeanlouie. Please help me look into the attached indicator. It is supposed to alert each time price reaches any of the levels, but it is not.

You can use this - it shows Range and how many bars in between.

Hi Sir, could you please assist me here. Could you please create an EA based on Bollinger Bands, for Take Profits. For instance on a Buy, to take TP on the Upper Band and on the Sell, to take TP on the Lower bands. TP levels must change with the Bollinger Bands.

It's by cja originally, and looks tampered with, did you try making changes to it? The issue isn't with the alert, a line is missing/removed that would make it update every tick, so it's not doing that, and the open daily level is only set once on loading.

Yes, I tried to figure how to do it using copy and paste, but I am stuck.

IŽll circle back a bit. I got this notion from experimenting with Renko charts in NinjaTrader. If you attach an ATR that calculates its values from the Renko bricks. The ATR value shoots up as the price starts to flatline and the bricks needs to get bigger in order to not produce false signals and vice versa. As the market is moving steadily in one direction, the ATR lowers and the bricks get smaller.

So spit balling what needs to coded but.
- Im pretty certain this needs an Offline chart.
- The standard Metatrader ATR will be calculated from the regular time frame. So this needs a separate ATR calculated from the bricks.
- Renko bricks of varying sizes..? I have no idea how to produce those. Maybe regular candles will suffice or maybe draw rectangles as price is moving along?

IŽve included a screen shot from my Ninjatrader where you can see what I mean by the ATR value changing with the price wanting to change direction.

Ok makes sense now
- add your name and change as comments to the top of the file somewhere
- on line 69 youre running the block to setup the lines on loading and a new day, but the condition on line 69 only goes through once
- you need to constantly update the value for dcbar, which I assume means date-current-bar, which can be udpated every tick, right now it's never updated, only set in init, dpbar!=dcbar on loading, then dpbar is set to dcbar, but dcbar never changes again
- have dpbar and dcbar as longs or datetime types, and ditch the ibarshift, just use itime to get the current day time

I got more curious and fiddled with a renko maker, the blocks themselves are still a reglar fixed height but the distances are different, and based on a 5x atr(5) value. It starts to look like a regular price chart, the calculated heights range from under 100pts to over 400pts.

Offline charts or custom symbols in mt5 are just for making whole new price charts, like renko/range/some synthetic index, but there are renko indicators that just draw on the current live chart like I used in a pic on the previous post.

I'm very new to coding. I changed the setindexemplty value to (0,0.0). I dont know how to do the calculation for the int start section. This indicator is not mine so i dont know where to begin. Do you think its better to pay someone or is it something I can do myself and if so, how would i go about doing it? thank you
