There are a ton of YouTube videos and strategies using Parabolic SAR. Since I only trade US30 I combined the indicator with EMA100, and tested couple of time-frames. I've been testing this strategy on live markets through London and New York session for a while now.

This strategy shows good potential but is not absolute, and can definitely be improved. Also, it can easily be converted into EA. I'm sure someone here will pick this up

I decided to share this strategy to give something back, maybe help beginners with something simple, and, hopefully, if it makes money we could all do something good and help feed more families (more about this later on).

Step-By-Step

Goal:
- 50pips/day
- Get out of the market as soon as possible.

TradingView - I'm using TradingView because I like the specific PSAR indicator with Buy/Sell labels.
US30
Time-frame: 1m

Indicators

1. Moving Average Exponential
- Inputs: Change the length to 100.
- Style: Pick any colour

2. Parabolic SAR by everget
- Leave the settings as they are.
- Style: Change the colours as you like

Rules
Daily target: 50 pips.

Get out of market:
- IF you reach +50 pips. Dont overtrade! There will always be another opportunity the next day.
- IF you get 4 losses in a row, OR -100pips

Take profit: 50pips
Stop-loss: 25pips
Break-even: 30-40pips

Buy
1. Price is ABOVE EMA100.
2. Once a BUY signal appears, draw a line on the last Sell dot SAR indicator created.
3. Wait for the candle to close ABOVE the line
4. Enter the trade on the next candle > TP=50pips; SL=25pips

Sell
1. Price is BELOW EMA100.
2. Once a SELL signal appears, draw a line on the last Buy dot SAR indicator created.
3. Wait for the candle to close BELOW the line
4. Enter the trade on the next candle > TP=50pips; SL=25pips

Other

  1. This strategy can be traded in LDN or NY session.
  2. BEST time to trade this strategy is after 1pm London time.
  3. IF there are news at 1:30pm - Wait for them to finish before you start!
  4. IF there are important news that day, the market will range, especially in LDN session.
  5. No big candles entries especially after NY open.

We will be trading only after 1pm London time, since based on my backtesting it showed the best results for now.

Examples of entries

Below are examples of entries for the last two weeks.

Jul 4 = 50 pips
No. of trades: 2 (1 BE, 1 Win)

Attached Image (click to enlarge)

Name: SAR_Jul4.png
Size: 104 KB

Jul 5 = 50 pips
No. of trades: 1 (Win)

Explanation

Enter the trade when:

  1. Price is BELOW EMA100 - ONLY looking for SELL signals.
  2. Once SELL signal appears, draw a line on the last Buy dot SAR indicator created.
  3. Wait for the candle to close BELOW the line
  4. Enter the trade on the next candle > TP=50pips; SL=25pips

INVALID SIGNAL:

  1. There was a Sell signal before the signal described above one.
  2. It counts as invalid because there was no candle closing below the last Buy dot.
  3. WAIT for pullback (next Buy signal), and enter when all the conditions are met.

Best way to practice this strategy is to backtest and replicate these charts, so you get a good idea about the entries.

Good luck!

That sounds like an interesting strategy, I will take it upon myself to backtest with all the available data on the 1m for US30 for TradingView,

Pair: US30
Datafeed: Pepperstone
Timeframe: 1m
for BE: 30pips which is 1.2RR.

I will be posting on the sheet below with all the stats of the start broken down by date, and session, I will take all available trades then we can find the best time that gives the most accurate profitable trades

***I INCLUDED SCREENSHOTS WITH ALL THE TRADES TAKEN***

Good question. Probably mods think this is a rookie strategy that is not worth the time I will be posting daily and see if they are right.

Great spreadsheet!
Thanks for sharing with us.
You've inspired me.
Only thing is: US30 won't move too much during Asian session and spread will be large.
Try HK50 instead during Asian session?

It looks like we will all have a little bit different entries.

Your 1st entry > Buy - On my charts, the candle didn't close above so the signal was not valid.
Your 2nd and 3rd entry > Sell and Buy - Yes, this entry is valid, but it's considered a more 'advanced' entry when you wait to break EMA100. I did not include this rule since it often reverses, and is better to wait for the next confirmation signal. But it did work in your favour yesterday

thanks for the strategy. I modified it for my personal comfort. Here are the changes I made:

1st: 5 minute time frame
2nd: my work schedule (from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Montreal time
3rd: The moving average is 12 sample shift 1 (12 X 5 min = 1h00) so I have the feeling of the market of the previous hour and where the market should go.. I hope
4th: profit remains the same (50pips) better if you manage your position, stop loss 30-35 pips
if you have a loss may be you can double your next position and get to half the distance of your stop loss, close everything and recover your loss

Thanks for your idea!

Did you trade this entries?
Because, regarding to the rules, the marked entries are not valid. A valid entry is the close of the candle which closes above/below the opposite psar.
On this, depending on the spread, there are two BE trades, one loss and one winner...

Iam testing at the moment a mix of 100 ema, 200 sma, volume and money flow index....
But nothing worth to tell now.
