A lot of people are turned off to Woodie's ideas because they've heard unflaterring things about his business practices. I choose to follow his methods and not rumors. I use his patterns every day (with variations) and have never done better.

When I firstly studied CCI, I found many statistical facts behind it. I used four CCI together to get on a trend, then two. Now, I analyze and modify Woodie's CCI to make them work for me. Patterns and moving averages are just the surface. Also, some people have their arguments about whether CCI is a lagging or leading indicator. It really depends on how you use it. People think price doesn't lag. It is a false argument to me. Price lags. You use five-minute bar? It lags. You use 1-minute bar? It lags also. Even Volume profile and footprint chart lag! The only thing never lag is tape reading or DOM watching. Because you could always use the right now information to trade. See? If anything can provide you predictive value, then it doesn't lag. So, lag or not always depends on how you use it.
Keep asking yourself why before everything becomes clear to you. Why does ZLR work? What's HFE really about? If you don't do this and dig deep enough, you won't find the gem.
