Try this renkorange indicator on setting 4 or 5 - not on anything bigger. I use it with CCI-34, stochs 8-3-3 together with S&R fractal indicator that appeals to my safe trading policy.
Range bar indicators must be used with a momentum oscillator of some description.
I've also attached the CCI indi (34 setting is best with range bars) and the S&R fractal channel in case anyone needs them.
Regards
George

Since writing the above I have learned of one trader using the above with Fibonacci Fan who is claiming very small losses of less than 10 and mainly profitable trades using, in addition to the above, this indicator attached.
His system uses the Fib Fan from the high above the blue on-screen line or the low below the red on-screen line. He waits till the price has an open and close away from the on screen line.
If anyone takes up this rangebar system would they please post all loss making screengrabs.
Thanks
George

It's funny but I only found out the other day what CCI actually represents. Just in case not everyone knows I will post it here quickly.

The 0 line of the indicator represents a moving average and the signal line is the actual price in relation to that moving average.

If you use an 8 period ma then the middle 0 line is an 8 ma and the squiggly line is the price in relation to that line.

Bearing that in mind all the indicator is telling you is how far away from a certain moving average is the price?

I think this puts it's usefulness in a new light. Did for me when I found this out anyway.

I use 144-CCI and 14-CCI on a 10-Range Bar on NQ (I prefer Futures but this is equally applicable to Forex) and look for Vegas Trades (also known as cup-and-handle or 1-2-3 SetUp). I trust a VT on the 14 with confirmation from the LSMA and divergence from price (and oftentimes from the 144-CCI).

This is from Tuesday November 13 New York Time with the first trade before the NY opening with 55-Points ($1,100 per contract) on the first (long) trade, and 65-Points ($1,300 per contract) on the short sale. Both profit figures are MFE or best case scenario. I tailor my entries and exits with an intuition too complex to describe here (not sure I could decribe). After an excess of 20,000-hours of screen-time, some things just happen because . . .

See attached attachment showing entries.

Comments are welcome.

It seems like I reinvent the wheels.... I've never known Woodie CCI before. I call it skewness arbitrage. Haha, it's not about options.

Hint: If you look into CCI and the theory behind it, you'll know that Woodie CCI works for all timeframe and all products forever. I mean really look into it, not wikipedia conventional level.

Oh, you mean this is something like the holy grail ??
I don't think there's any indicator that really works .....
Have you done backtests of the indicator?
