Help - MT4 won't save chart option 'Chart on foreground'

Hello! If anybody could help me with the below I would be most grateful.

On MT4, when I right-click a chart, select 'properties', and select 'chart on foreground', this correctly moves my bars in front of all my annotations.

However this disappears when I change timeframe and back

I've tried

  1. 'File' -> 'Open data folder' -> 'Templates' -> 'template_1'
    And setting 'fore=1'
    However this did not change the chart.
    Interesting, if I switch 'ohlc=0' to 'ohlc=1' in the template file, this properly reflects in the chart. So it seems to me the 'fore' option is bugged?
  2. Hard refresh of the charts (ctrl + F8 or something, don't quite remember)

I've not tried reinstalling MT4 yet.

Even more confusing is that this option is saved for my USDX chart, but not any of my other charts...

Any help would be super appreciated!

Hey, thought I might be of help here and shed some light on what may be happening.
My gut tells me that one of your indicators is setting that chart property value to be in foreground to false...

What to do;
1) Remove 1 indicator at a time, tick the box, switch timeframes and check if it stays ticked. 2) Repeat 1 until you find the indicator. 3) If you can look under the hood of the indicator, then it may be possible to put that value into an indicator input option. Otherwise, you may have to find an alternative/ not use the indicator if chart is not wanted to be on foreground.

Yess that was it! My 'position size calculator' indicator that I use to enter was always trying to put itself on top. I wasn't having this problem with the USDX since I don't actually trade it so hadn't activated this indicator.

Had a peak at the code too and managed to adjust some default values to my liking.
