@emiel2303, what timeframe did you have and what ratio 1:1 in pips did you have, can you say something about that?

I did use the "normal" AO. I trade MT5. and have not find the CAO for mt5 yet.
I used the 1M chart. ATR5 is leading to me. Example: if ATR is 6 pips, the SL and the TP is 6 pips.
This link can help us furhter to pinpoint our entries:

{quote} IMO it is not possible to change any settings on AO, or am I missing something? By the way... yesterday I scalped on EU and EJ about 50 trades. 1:1. winrate way over 80%! I am very happy that I found this thread. It seems almost dead but maybe we can get it alive together.

It will start to gain more traction once people see the potential

The standard Awesome Oscillator ( what you find inside the MT4 ) is set to : 5 ,34 .
If you set the Cao 5 , 34 you get the same results as the standard Awsome Oscillator .

If you want to insert a useful filter, which filters many false signals, you can use 2 Cao: one with setting 5,34 and one with setting 14 ,100.
You can download the Cao indicator at post #31.

Maybe posting your trades to help to understand the entry/exit points would be very helpful!!!

Nice to have you here. I know that you are a great coder, maybe you can convert this strategy into an EA. Do a backtest for the past few years, to determine whether this strategy can generate longterm profit or not...

I would do this if I had clear entries/exits!!!!

The rules in post #1 aren't clear enough for me to start coding this strategy!!!

I hope someone else can provide better instructions, examples of entries and exits in the chart.

MARKETS OPEN ~~

Here's an example of where I set my SL on this trade - pretty much exiting with a couple points.

This is a 1:1 with swing - BB is contracting and price is consolidating so we're expecting choppy movement going into this trade.

Is the parameter for opening a trade the same as AO (i.e. indicator crossing zero) or it is colour change?
Thanks.

Example in M1 :

AO 5, 34 is for entries ( together with the cross of 3Ema with 20Ema ( BB middle band ).
AO 14, 100 gives you the overall trend : histograms above zero = only Long. Histograms beow zero = only Short.

A further , useful filter is to look at AO 14,100 in M5 : histograms above zero = only Long. Histograms beow zero = only Short.

Important clarification:
AWESOME ( AO ) = difference between Moving Average MODE_SMA and PRICE_MEDIAN.
CAO = difference between Moving Average MODE_SMA and PRICE_CLOSE.
You will not have the same calculation values.

As you can see, the difference betwenn Awesome and Cao ( same settings ) are very slight , they are irrelevant for trading.

Hi

Let me try (as per my understanding).

Enter long:

1. CAO histo is above 0 level
2. AO is above histo level
3. MA 3 is above MA 20
4. Close of HA candle; when the open as well as low of closed candle is equal to previous closed candle i.e low of candle 1 is same as close of candle 2. Meaning candle one did not go lower than the close of candle 2
5. Step 4 should have had happened at 1st or max at 3rd bar of histogram, above 0 level. eg if step 4 is happening on the sixth bar above 0 level, ignore entry

Exit long:

1. Price touches lower band of BB
2. SL at x pips (this value can be arrived at after backtesting)
3.First bearish HA candle
4. TP at X pips (this value can be arrived at after backtesting)

(Vice-versa for Sell Trades)

A break-even point as well as a Trailing stop will also help
I also suggest - no trades on Monday, and Time filter to trade from Frankfurt open to two hours after London Close

Hope this helps. Feel free anyone to add suggestions

I took a quick scalp - didn’t enter on the cross candle because it wasn’t wickless to the topside showing weakness:

I entered on the following candle and exited in that same candle for $110

Potential setup

edit - stuck in trade

edit - loss $250

lesson learned: the cross candle had a wick that rejected off of bb band , this is a reversal sign, so very risky to take this trade. Remember you need space to profit

stay cool and we will win on the next one
