Ukraine is about the size of Texas. Both have the embedded sense of independence. Both are heavily armed. I dont think this ends well. Those fighting at home to defend their children will fight harder. Putin stuck his face in a honey badgers hole. My fear is Putin is so embarrassed. He drops nukes or firebombs the cities.

Agree. I don't see how Putin can back down either. But they are surrounded and running low on supplies. I read a division of seasoned Marines have landed on the coast, these are not kids.

Maybe we have to help?

Just leave some truck loads of stingers, Javelins and other supplies on the border. The Ukraines can do the rest. They took out an entire 56 column of tanks. With a ground force with no air cover. They seem pretty capable. That tank convoy was supposed to be elite. If the U/S Javelin did that. Russia better reconsider those metal coffins on tracks. The grills on top aint working. It probably traps the guys inside the tank. /worse yet, if they ran out of fuel. Than they were sacrificed over stupidity. That comes from upper management. Inferia tanks and poor management is a deadly combination. Lots of Russian mothers are unable to reach their sons fighting via social media. The deaths reported may be real .

Yeah, they are outgunned. But it will take more than 150K in troops to control 44 million people. The rubble lost 25% today. It lost 60% over the past few months. War is expensive. Inflation is coming. Putin will be lucky to be able to feed those troops. The sanctions will cripple GDP. The people won't have a job. Sitting around broke and hungry. Its just a matter of time before they point that anger toward Putin/government. Putin may need those troops back home.

Its true that there is a long game here. Its an opportunity to really weaken them long term. They are tough cookies also, but the way the world works now I dont think people are looking to move backward. He will have trouble at home, and his political opponents will look to gain also.

It may be a good time to sell vodka. It would be a good day when the Russian people. Kick out the corrupt oligarchs (Putin system). Putin may have shot himself in the foot. The world should not let up. This is the best chance in 30 years to throw out some trash. He planted too many seeds in Belarus etc. Those weeds need to be pulled too.
