Hy could you share a kind of base optimization set file as you did with mt4 ones? I mean a set file to start optimiztion process avoid some useless parameters from your experience?

I'm sorry I'm not understanding what you want. I think that's pretty much what I just posted.
Reminder: MT4 and MT5 set files are not compatible. One will not work with the other. I think they will quietly load, perhaps without errors, but they won't work at all.

There are a few translators available, I'll see if I can come up with one more accessible to everyone. Mine currently runs on Linux.

I'm convinced optimizing on MT5 is the way to go. Even if you're trading on MT4. Fiddling with two different systems and conversions between them is a hassle, but the testing capability and tons of apparently good data that come with MT5 make this much easier. Optimizing on MT4 is a much bigger hassle and the data is not nearly as good.

Becoming familiar with a whole new platform is a pain. MT5 has way too many gratuitous incompatibilities. And it's not nearly as fast as it should be. I really think they may have slowed it down on purpose. But, the advantages are undeniable.

You really can do a one pass optimize over the last three or four months and go live with the results. And you can convert the resulting set file to MT4 format and trade it live there. Though you may want to do a sanity check first.

Perhaps most importantly, MT5 has much better data, including actual spreads. Each chart or optimization immediately provides access to years of data for all time frames. My MT4 brokers barely go back a month!

It's all so easy and fast now it's helpful to optimize for the exact account or 'portion' and margin while you're at it. The first set file I moved to MT4 I was surprised, it was still winning, but the trades were only making tiny profits, $0.50 each. I forgot to adjust for the much lower margin on silly US brokers.

A heads-up, I've also found that while Blessing money management automatically adjusts size according to account growth, it sometimes impacts profitability performance a little. So I do tend to optimize for all parameters now, including PortionPC or account size.

It's not in the manual, but if you set PortionPC to a number larger than 100 it tells Blessing to use that as the account size instead of a percentage of the actual account. It must be equal to or larger than the actual account size, of course. Very handy! Especially for those of us that like to trade quite a few pairs on one account. Diversification smooths out your equity curve. More fun!

So if you trade 10 pairs on a $10,000 account and set each PortionPC to $1,000 you're way smarter than the average trader. And more consistently profitable.

Yes I would love the converter to mt4 and any other set files if you have handy. It's going to be easier if I run the set files and then maybe a little easier to learn the settings

I was playing around with other EAs the whole year of 2021 (with not so bad outcome), but decided to diversify my portfolio 2022 a little more with Blessing EA and Forex Pairs. So I started trading today on an almost fresh account with EURUSD on H1 with Blessing. I#m going conservative with a 30-60% gain per year. Let's see what we get

It appears I made a mistake on the recent set file (Optimize-MT5.set).

I somehow switched some parameters around and allowed the stop loss (SLPips) to possibly be optimized to off (less than 1). You may be okay with that, but I prefer to use a stop loss these days.

Here's a better one ...

I tried a BT from 2013 until today... eventually I do a mistake.. but my data are 100% quality .. hmm
Richard any idea or hint? thx for the help in advance

Ive been getting this mistake on the MT5 version, been playing around with the ichi stuff

GO 2 22:18:24.883 Core 1 genetic pass (0, 285) tested with error "wrong timeframe request in Open Prices mode" in 0:00:00.001

Any ideas?

Just use '1 minute OHLC'. Works fine.

Don't use every tick. That will take ages to finish and with no real advantage.

Best not to test over a zillion years when doing initial tests, when testing a couple months instead will save tons of your time.

And see if the Journal holds any clues when problems arise.

open price was testing pandatronix not me.. I was testing with every tick with real data

Just a quick question
If I am trading the 5m chart or the daily chart is it advisable for me to change the array and grid size?
I don't want the grid to be say 16 32 64 and change to 8 16 32?
What are your thoughts on that. I know the risk is going to change!
