I'm more concerned about not having enough trades than having too many. None of my brokers seem to care if I scalp or not. Money is money. I like having one or two scalpers in the mix so there's always some activity ... :-)

I just whipped this one out for fun and discussion. I'm not trading it.

Profit factor too high? Wow! There are all kinds of ways to trade. And I appreciate the input from the folks that have apparently studied the magic Profit Factor numbers to death. My most successful live systems had infinite Profit Factors. No losing trades in the optimization. Sure, you want to test that on different/wrong data to see how they perform under duress and losses. But I love high Profit Factor numbers. I must be doing something very wrong.

I've seen successful algo traders with screens full of robots on different pairs all optimized to few or zero losing trades.

I constantly remind myself there is no magic in this stuff. Other than perhaps having a good robot to optimize and run. And the setup you least expect will have a long winning streak.

I'll study this further, now that you've mentioned it. But I loath using tools like this to 'make the system sloppier' on purpose. Makes no sense to me.
I like curve fitting. It's what I intend to do. I expect the market to keep doing what's it's doing -- or at least I hope it will for a bit. That's the essence of auto trading. Finding repeating patterns. One Blessing setup can probably be adjusted to make money on a dozen different pairs going forward. MT5 has tools for that. But I doubt the returns would often be worth the trouble. I admittedly have only tested it for a few weeks in the past. I'm not shooting to make a killing, just to perform better than investing in stocks. (Although my Tesla stock has 10-xed in less than two years, so maybe I should be careful what I say.)

For the thousandth time ... For those that keep mentioning how wonderful it is that MT5 comes with tick data ... please stop. Tick data is bullshit. Yes, there are companies selling it, and therefor promoting it, and telling you lies about it. But if you're not scalping then what in the world do you need it for. Even then, it's mostly useless noise. The Once Per Bar feature in Blessing is designed not just to make it much faster, which it does, but to clean up the data both while testing and trading. It's a filter that mildly normalizes the data. The only reason Blessing has accessible controls for OPB was for initial testing and for those that need convincing through comparison. Imagine making your setup intentionally sloppy by choosing lower Profit Factors and then using tick data to test it. Yikes! I have seen test systems that use carefully crafted noisy data on purpose, but that's not the same thing at all.

I did make a system for trading the noise in the futures market long ago. It was genius, until it became clear the trades would only fill half the time in the live market, vs. testing.

These are all just my personal opinions and feelings with never enough experience or knowledge, but working on it. Contrary opinions appreciated and entertained.

Here's a copy of MT4/MT5 Blessing that Fxtrue built, with comments re-adjusted so the parameter menu agrees with the manual once again.

I added a little something for Custom Tester Settings. TesterMinMarginPercent should be more or less self explanatory. TesterSelection is a stub to allow adding more custom optimization tools. Set it to 2 to select the one Fxtrue had installed.

With TesterMinMarginPercent you can adjust things to more accurately fit your balance while optimizing and hopefully reduce margin calls.

This crossover MT4/MT5 version is a bit slower than the native MT5 version, but the crossover seems important otherwise. More testing is in order.

Since mt4gui is old, the code needs to be revised again with the new version. because the functions it calls have changed. Same way; The jta functions library imported to the program is also decompiled. I'm posting the youtube video about the robot here. If the forum rules will not cause trouble and there will be no copyright, can I post the files here? I couldn't deal with the robot because I was busy with my work. I will be glad if experts can help. Similar to the original Blessing code but obfuscate, class and function names look ridiculous. May I know your ideas?

Folks that think they can just grab someone else's setup and go are missing out, in my opinion.

Blessing is pretty good stuff if you tune it up for your target market on a regular basis. Folks that imagine set-and-forget aren't likely to do very well, I suspect. There's always luck, but it's nice to have a little more advantage on your side.

Blessing is a little more complex than some other systems. But that means it's very flexible and will work in many different ways. It works reasonably well placing one trade at a time, but the grid system has some solid advantages too.

thank you for the reply. The issue I face is that simply I don’t know how to do best optimise blessing as I don’t know the ea so well that’s why I ask for help from someone experienced but I will test it around and see.

Just a standard step trail with no indicators and preferably by magic number

Read the manual a couple times. Use MT5 for testing. MT4 is too limited.

Optimize on MT5 and convert to MT4 if that's what you're trading on.

Blessing can do trailing stops.
